Hi all.

Could someone please post the over all height of the trollhole 1F carb?

I jsut want to get all my measurements correct.

so:

1) carb height

2) carb mouth diameter ( where the filter connects )

it will be going on an early siamese f intake :)

I realize i have to modify my oil bath filter clamp, as the diameter is likely dif from the single barrel carbs. But i would like to verify these things.

the old single barrel carb is 6.5 inches btw.
and the carb mouth diameter is 2.25 inches. ( i am assuming the trollhole 1f carb is around 3 inches? )

Thanks!

Looking forward to my trollhole carb :)

i will likely have to find someone to weld on a larger clamping ring for my oil bath, but i might have to wait to sort out alignment.
Anyone adapt an old oil bath filter to fit onto these larger mouthed 1f carbs? or should i be looking for a 70;s filter top to try to adapt to my base?

mine is like this:

Your going to have to source a different top to your air filter in order to fit mine. As well my carb is 5.85 inches tall. The mouth of the carb is just a tick over 3" at 3.08.

About the only thing that will bolt right up to mine. Is your fuel line and the manifold. You will have to get creative with the air cleaner and throttle attachment. Your going in uncharted territory.

I also include a spacer for the air cleaner but its only .5" high.

I can try and figure out an adapter to go from your early air cleaner to my carb. But I have no idea how this will effect the airflow going over the venturis.

And for future reference. My carb is 149mm tall not taking into account the lip for the air cleaner. The spacer adds 10mm when added. The mouth of the carb is 78.4mm

awesome bro!

Thanks for the info, this should work perfectly.

I think i might just pop on a later wider mouth OEM air cleaner from the 69 fj40 ( i t looks like it bolts to the head like the oil bath filter ) I would much rather have proper air flow :)

I might switch over to a cable pedal if the linkages do not line up well.
The little research I have done makes this look pretty easy :)

Man you have no idea how excited I am to get this carb on :)

btw do these have an auto choke when cold? I am not familiar with al the linkages on the 2 barrel, was just curious :) I thought i saw a linkage from the throttle linkage goes up to the choke valve. Excuse my ignorance, just curious how it works :)

Thanks man!

awesome :)

I think the connection i was seeing from the throttle and the choke was a lift that ups the trottle sllightly when you pull the choke cable ( new to the 2 barel carbs, likely a dumb question. )

Super stoked to get the new carb, nice to have the secondaries on bigger hills too :)

Thanks man!
