Hey everybody I'm in the middle of my timing belt replacement and I am at the part of pulling off the belt but first one to make sure everything is aligned. I am using a 1998 factory service manual but want to make sure the setting for the 99 is the same the 1998 calls for 50 degrees after top dead center.
does the 1999 require the same?

99 FSM says do the 50° move. I did not move the timing off of the marks when doing my '99's timing belt. I read most of the posts about the 50° move and determined it wasn't necessary if you keep the cams and crank from moving around when pulling and installing the belt.

50 degrees points at the nub on the plastic timing cover. Doing it that way means you can install the belt without fighting against the valve springs. Much easier, IMHO.

ATDC =After, BTDC = Before top dead center.

Tips:
Pull spake plugs. Good time to replace aligning with T-belt job. Also will makes the times you'll need to spin the crank so much easier not fighting compression.
"T" above each cam sprocket, is not the timing mark, ignore them.

You'll fine some useful tips under timing belt in my master link. Here's one of those links:
