My father's cruiser was dead a few days ago in his driveway. He drives it daily and it has never died. When he charged the battery the horn was stuck on. He removed the horn relay.

I went to se what was up, knowing nothing about electrical. Put the horn relay in and the horn sounded. Best part was that the fog lights came on. When I actually push the horn, the fog lights dim.

I pulled the horn relay and the fog lights go out. Obviously so does the horn. Now the horn doesn't work at all. I tried to pull the center horn plug but broke it. Now when I put thehorn relay on, thehorn doesn't sound at all. The horn on the left now doesn't work.

Any advice as to where I mighe start to find the gremlin? Should i repair the wire to the center mounted horn first?

I know electrical is a nightmare to solve. We don't know a local mechanic that wants to deal with this type of issue. Dad will bring it to the dealer if need be. It is his baby so I am hoping I can help.

Appreciate any help!

Today we realized that the break lights are super low and or dim now as well. Surely there is something electricaly odd going on. Thinking a panel is wet.

I plan to take a look at the kick plate side panel and see if there is any moisture in there.

The threads linkes gave me some great ideas. Time to probe more.

Thanks,

Did anyone ever resolve this?

Our horn went off at 3:00am this morning after a huge rainstorm and wouldn't shut off until I disconnected the battery.

You may have to remove the horn relay, carefully remove the cover and dry the inside. A tiny bit of moisture is sufficient to activate the horn relay.
