I bought 2 of these units, installed one, sold the truck and now I have one sitting on the shelf. I tested this one in the truck, it worked perfectly. These are really nice systems....a lot of people complain about the Chinese head units but I've found them to be pretty solid. We've installed at least 10 in customer trucks (3 in my personal rides) with a small handful of issues(more like glitches).

This was purchased for a 2002 LX 470 that had NAV. I would suspect it would work on a Land Cruiser if it had Nav. The Nav screen is different from the non-nav screen.

Has wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay and of course bluetooth. They do a million things with all kinds of apps but we keep them pretty basic.

Works with Levison amp

Can run a rear view camera(not included).

8G + 256G Android 12.

I've got $450 in it.....looking for $325 plus the ride. Dollar for dollar this is one of the best upgrades you can do to updated these trucks. Do your speakers, some sound deadening in the doors and you're good to go.

I included a pic of my OEM head unit....yours MUST look like this one.

Interested... how complicated is the install? Is the unit "plug and play" ready, or is there software downloads needed? What "glitches" have you encountered? I have an 01 with ML and NAV, same radio cluster as shown.

Install is easy. ZERO software or anything. Plug it in, sync your phone and it works. There are a couple of plugs that you will not use(I'll tag the ones you use)....I sold the truck I had to my employee so it's still on site. If you run into a snag, the truck is here so we can figure out what is going on. Typically the connections only fit one way BUT on this unit there were a couple of plugs that were not intuitive. We know that they use a test harness for these things when they program them on the bench...they don't remove those plugs which is strange. Those test harnesses plugs(2 of them) can be plugged into the harness of the car.....then the system doesn't work correctly. Frustrating but as I said, we install a fair amount of these so we've figured it out. On the later model trucks we remove a lot of those unused plugs as space behind the unit is limited. Not so much on the 02.

Glitches have been minor things and that has NOT been with this unit.....we do mostly 12" Tesla style screens in the later year trucks(03-07).....the latest batch we have done didn't have rear AC control on the screen. Still sorting thru that with the company I get them from.

I think they're great units.....and for trucks like the LX470 that doesn't have any real options as far as standard size head units go(unless of course you change your AC controls over to the LC analog ones), this is great. They sound pretty solid, lots of adjustments there. Having a rear camera is super nice and integration with this is very easy(Amazon has a good camera that mounts in one of the license plate lights). Wireless Carplay or Android Auto is the bees knees. All in all it really brings the truck back into more modern times.

I'm by no means a stereo guy or a tech guy.....I'm sure there are tons of stuff these things are capable of. I use them simply for bluetooth, camera and wireless Android Auto(and climate control on this one). I have a 12" Tesla screen on my 06 and it's been rock solid. I've got some specific sized ones in my 70 series stuff and they've been really nice as well.

You'll most likely want to pull apart your doors and update your OEM speakers/subwoofer. They are always blown. Amazon has some good drop ins. Maybe do a little sound deadening in the doors while they are apart. OEM amp stays in....no issues there that we have seen. You'll fall in love with your truck doing that :)

Let me know.

I just got a non-Nav bezel with climate control knobs, along with new Focal speakers. Planned on doing the swap with a new Kenwood system, but this could save me some time and searching. I will send you my cell number, would like to see a video of one installed and working, and we can go over a few other questions I have.

Sure. No problem.

I was going to go the climate control swap out route but it got expensive and with all the projects I have and the limited time the guys in the shop have to work on my stuff, I found this the easier way to go. Plus I didn't think I was going to keep the 02.....an 01 LC fell into my lap about 2 days after buying the Lexus. Kind of figured I should have a 100 series LC and a 100 series LX. :)

Give me a call when you can... check the "conversatio" for my cell number, or send me your contact info...

Price drop.......$300 plus shipping.

Can you share a video of the install, were you able to get the climate controls to work? I took mine to an audio shop to install this same unit and they couldn’t figure out the climate controls

I don't have a video of the install and I don't have the truck any longer. I may have a video of it working.

I removed one of the units before we sold it so I have an additional one for the same price.

Everything worked on mine including climate controls.

These are tricky systems to get them to work.....we have spent hours figuring them out.

The ones I have should be plug and play......put it in and enjoy.

I returned my other defective unit so I’m interested. Are you able to share a video of it working?

I don’t have my truck any longer as I said before BUT I believe my tech has a video of it working in his 02. I can send that. Anything specific you’re looking at seeing?

That would be great if you could share that. Specifically I’d like to see the AC working, and see the fitment as well

Here you go.....my tech did a quick run thru on all the functions. Wish we still had the truck so we could do a better video for you. Everything worked as it should. Hooks right up to your Android Auto or Carplay wirelessly instantly. I typically use these just with Android Auto. There are so many things you can do with it. One of the best things is the equalizer and sound settings. You can make these things sound really good. And you can do a rear view camera really easily. No brainer if you ask me to install one of these.

i know its sold, wondering where to grab one. Were there ANY drawbacks, like maybe the sound quality not as good as OEM, etc? i have an 01 with nav and mark levinson. I bought the LC center with knob HVAC but kinda being lazy and dont want to swap all the wires in the harness etc.

These things are great. Only drawback being a little too many things to mess with on them. We do a lot of Androids in all the various platforms and they're all great. I think I've seen them on Amazon and I know for sure on ebay......just need to make sure you're getting the right one....most vendors will ask for pics of your unit to confirm.

It’s an easy install in your truck....you could definitely handle installing it. The later trucks are a little more difficult due to all the wires but the early ones are easy.

Hi, did anyone else buy one from Ebay and install it? I am getting ready to pull the trigger to replace my nav unit in my 2002 LX470 due to the "check the connection of the air conditioner" message. Is it really plug and play on the 2002 LX470? Thank you for all the information.

Following... I have a 2002 LX. This unit looks amazing! I saw the video on YouTube from the OP and fished for this thread. Glad I found it. I was also curious if anyone has bought one. I see them available on EBay if anyone has a recommended seller I would love to snag one.

Would you know where this unit can be sourced in the US? I have seen them on sites in China but I am leery of engaging in such a transaction in this highly tariffed environment. (02 Lexus LX)
