  • All driveshaft u-joints and slip yokes have been greased.
  • New rear brake pads and rotors
  • New rear trim piece
  • The original engine had #5 connecting rod fail. The replacement came out of a 2000 Toyota Land Cruiser. We heard the engine run and did a compression check before we pulled the engine. I have photographs of the odometer and the door jamb sticker of the car the engine come out of for confirmation if needed. Since the came out of a land cruiser, there was no need to replace the oil pan. We replaced both exhaust manifolds as the old ones were cracked and damaged. We used the manifolds from the original engine as they were not cracked. Both exhaust manifold gaskets were replaced with new.

The Bad

  • Salvage (aka “branded”) Title
  • When the car was in LA, some homeless people lit a fire next to it. It melted the passenger turn signal and the passenger mirror. It was totaled because of that. The Carfax shows this as “minor” fire damage. The damage was so minor the insurance adjuster was going to try and buy it… I still have the melted mirror and turn signal to show you how minor it was.
  • Minor scratches in the paint work
  • Small dent behind rear passenger door
  • Small tear in Driver seat back leather
  • Driver side headlight has a chip repair in the glass. Light was repaired with epoxy and reassembled with new butyl seals that were oven cured.
  • Mirrors are supposed to be power adjust, power folding, and heated. Only the driver side folds. Melted passenger mirror replaced with new mirror, but it isn’t power folding, adjustable, or heated.
  • The passenger rear hydraulic shock has a leak. We elected not to fix this as the next owner may elect to remove the AHC and lift the truck. Often the pressures get out of balance and cause leaks. It may be possible to rebalance the system and the leak will go away.
  • The third row seat back handles are damaged. The seats still fold and the handle is operational, you just don’t have the same leverage.

We have all the receipts for the parts we bought and we did all the work ourselves to make sure it was done correctly. Everything was torqued to the specs called out in TIS.

Repairs and the work was documented in the below IH8MUD thread:

11k. I thought that was on the listing. I will add it if it isn’t. Thanks for pointing that out.
