Well the motor is out and the transmission is built and ready to rock! All I need to do is get the motor down to have some new cam bearing slapped in and toss the motor back together. 7 Pages later down in to the dirty lol!

This kind of mechanical rape should only be done to Jeeps.

If we were stuck within this thought process as a civilization we would still be using flint to start our fires, have PC's that take up an entire house and cell phones that require battery packs... I think you get where I am going with this.... Your archaic :flipoff2:

Well school is finally over and I was able to do some work on the Lexus. 1FZ motor mounts are now out and 4L65e/Transfer Case are in. Planning on installing the motor this week as well as the front clip. Then let the wiring fun commence!

looks good - the aluminum a/c hard line section that connects the suction hose to the firewall is going to have to come out, and the exhaust heat shielding should come out to. Also, the sway bar mounts that bolt to the frame will have to go as well. I would also address the fuel high pressure line connection now - it's a lot easier to do it before the motor is in the way.

Sometimes I come on mud and am ready to complain about having to replace, oh I dunno-say a water pump... then I read threads like this and realize how easy that is, and go on about my business.

Thanks for an encouraging thread-I'm jealous, but not so much that I'm gonna do anything nearly like this to my LX.

Aww come on your can do it!!

Here are a few pics of the motor install. Kind of a pain in the ass to do by yourself but oh well its done and welded in . Next step is going to be all the hoses (ac, ps ect). Then onto the wiring. The motor looks great in the engine bay makes me wanna fire this bad boy up now..

looks good! you are going to love driving your 80 with the new power. An 80 with some horsepower is a beautiful thing!

No joke. It's bad ass. From the 1 mile I put on it already, its sick.

Great thread! OP your engine bay, frame, etc. looks so clean. Gotta Love AZ. vehicles This will be my choice as soon as the 3f is cooked or head gasket even....

Getting a lot of work done on the Lexus. Lincoln fan is installed, tcase shifter, oil pan sensor, temp sensor, throttle cable assembly. I am looking at buying a set of Hooker HKR 8501HKR LS manifolds vs the shorty headers. These manifolds are good up to 500hp and more than likely last longer than the headers. What do you guys think, Im pretty sure they will fit according to the fitment pic.. Holley Performance Products GM LS (except LS7 & LS9) Exhaust Manifold - Raw Finish*8501HKR

Double check the return policy. It gets tight because of the flanges.

Yea, there is hardly any room at all. The exhaust pretty much has to come straight down. I could see it being an issue if it comes back at an angle.

Yeah Summit Racing sells them and they have a good return policy. May just do the block huggers...
