If you are just driving around town that is about average for what most people get, might be a little under but not much.

Pay attention to your air conditioning - these LX450's have that stupid "auto climate control" & defrost isn't the only time you are spinning that compressor/running the A/C system - if I ever run across a Landcruiser panel & it's a plug & play deal, I'd swap as I hate the 450's version compared to the "base" Landcruiser. I like the manual control over that auto-logic crap.

I only do about 12 MPG & I hardly ever run A/C here in Washington.

I get 10mpg city with traffic. 12mpg city with no traffic. 15mpg highway.

So 10mpg is prolly normal, depending on traffic.

That is pretty close to what I get and it is pretty much what I have gotten for 16 years. Sorry for the bad news.

I averaged 15.5 miles per gallon on my trip from Colorado to Maryland, and the conditions were terrible, white out/blizzard then raining cats and dogs. Of course I wasn't running the a/c. I just had the fuel filter changed, it took the mechanic quite some time to find it, then remove it.

Congrats you finally brought it home!

The conditions were probably good because they made you drive slower and get better mileage than if you were flying along at 75-80mph.

Let me just take this opportunity to say that I love the way this truck handles at high speed. 80mph is like sitting in my living room. Having owned the LC for about a month now I notice that I'm constantly going much faster than I thought I was or intended to go. I'm going to get pulled over any day now. LOL

Well, for a portion of the trip we were going at 60+ mph, I had it on cruise control, the Suburban ahead of us decided to brake, still not use to the cruise, only owned it for a couple of hours at the time. So instead of slowing down, I sped up, then the rear started to fishtail WOW! I feared hitting the brakes and losing control, so at over 50, we drove onto the grass/median that was quite snowy for a quarter mile, went back and forth with the steering wheel, made it back to the highway and passed the Suburban that saw the "show". I couldn't believe how well this truck performed under adverse conditions. My buddy who probably had a "brown alert", gave me a high five and laughed. My wife would have screamed and probably given me a heart attack. Wonderful vehicle!

I read somebody's quote on the forums that said (paraphrased) that exceeding the speed limit in an 80 is a premeditated crime. I agree!

p.s., all you guys with V-8 and diesel converstions, shut yer pie holes.... :flipoff2:
