This truck has been sold. I'm leaving the information below for people to read, if interested.
I'm selling my 1994 FZJ80, located in Birmingham, Alabama. I am the original owner. Red with gray seats; rest of the interior is brown.
Cloth seats in good condition (one small burn on the driver's seat; no tears or wear marks).
Interior is in good condition. No cracks in the dashboard. Headrest could use a good cleaning, and there is a sag in the material on the moonroof cover. I understand a mild adhesive can be applied to fix that. It is not that problematic.
There is a small tear in the door padding material on the driver's door near the front of the vehicle. It was caused by the material "bunching up" when the panel was removed. It is almost unnoticeable when the door is closed.
No lockers.
D light is out.
Starts and runs well. Engine runs strong. No engine, transmission or transfer case problems of any sort. It did have a habit of throwing a lean/rich code, which I believe I isolated to the wiring harness. No CEL for almost a year.
Small fender bender in 1995. Passenger side front quarter panel was replaced. The clearcoat is failing in some places on that panel alone. The rest of the paint looks good, but has the usual scratches on it. Some buffing and waxing would really bring it back to life.
There are a few small dents: one in the passenger side front quarter panel, and one on the hood. These are about quarter size, and not very deep. They could probably be fixed at a paintless dent removal place.
ABS light is on. It either needs a new right front sensor, or for that sensor to be cleaned.
New u-joints front and rear.
Birfields re-packed a few thousand miles ago.
New rotors and pads at all four wheels.
Center differential lock button in dash.
Has a minor exhaust rattle. I have not located it yet, but it is minor.
The power steering pump has a small leak in it. I have to put fluid in it about twice or three times a year. It also burns about a quart of oil every four thousand miles. If it has any engine leaks, I am unaware of them. I would characterize its oil consumption as "minor," and, if you change the oil every three thousand miles, you would never even notice it.
Windows are slow, but all four function. When it is warmer, they function flawlessly.
Rear "Land Cruiser" emblem is not on the vehicle.
I have three wheel center caps; it's missing one.
The Cruiser has an OME 2.5" lift, with Medium springs. The LSPV has been adjusted. It runs on BFG A/T KO's (275-65-R16) and has the factory wheels.
A/C and heat both work very well, even in Alabama summers (and the not-so demanding Alabama winters, for that matter).
CD player/radio both work well. Antenna works well.
This truck is very sound. It is solid with no rattles. Until a few weeks ago, it was my daily driver every day, beginning in January of 1994. The cargo area is the only part of the carpet with any wear marks. The tailgate is dented as this model is prone to do. It is only noticeable when the tailgate is open. It does not allow exhaust fumes in. There is no rust on the truck that I could see, though it did spend five years in New England with me, but was not driven that much, so there is some oxidation of the aluminum parts. This truck is not showroom quality, but I get compliments on it all the time, and I've tried to take good care of it.
I would have NEVER sold this except I bought a '97 (see sig line) with lockers and I cannot justify having two cruisers. I love this truck.
$6500 or best offer. Pics available upon request, either through this thread, or by PM or email: jwporte3@law.ua.edu.
