I have a 1994 FZJ80.Over the last several months it has been running great. It has a bunch of new toyota parts:

iac
Tps
02 sensors
vaf
egr valve
Vsv swithch
Temp sensor
Clean throttle body
New plugs wires cap and rotor
New hoses so no air leaks
The fuel pump and coil check out
Timing is correct

I recently replaced the battery and ever since its idl is all over and not drivealbe until it is full warm.

I tried the idle reset procedure which i found online:
1 turn the key twice to on
2. start the truck
3. Put the emergency break on
4. put the car and drive and let it learn its idle.

After doing this the truck runs fine.

When the truck is cold and it starts I have the same problem (rough idle and stumbling until fully warm). I have combed through the factory service manual and can't find anything that does not check out properly.

I pulled the efi a few times after about 75 miles to try again and still have the problem. I searched this forum and google and running out of ideas. Any suggestions?

Your help is appreciated

A few thoughts:
-Check vacuum hose routing to be sure everything is connected correctly
-EGR could be opening when cold and causing the idle issues, you can reroute the vac lines from the EGR to prevent it from opening as a test.
-Where did you get a Toyota VAF? I thought these were unobtanium these days

Yes. I forgot to mention i replaced that too

Thanks i am going to look at the egr one more time.

My understanding as well. I got one off of a parts dealer on ebay. It was factory sealed (who knows could be a counterfit) but it works.

Clean the throttle body.
