Two days ago our son had an accident with a Subaru that pulled out in front of him. Everyone is ok. The other car was driven by my son's friend, and for various reasons I'm exploring ways to minimize the expense to them. Exploring the idea of selling the vehicle rather than repairing it. Here are the specs on it:

1. We owned the cruiser in England and imported it to the US. It has been our family car for 5-ish years
2. Manual trans, triple factory locked, strong turbodiesel
3. UK market vehicle. Speedo is in MPH
4. About 170k miles on it
5. We put $10k into it last year going through the driveline: diffs (front had a whine), birfs, etc. Have receipts
6. Starts right up immediately. Uses almost no oil. A bit of diesel smoke.
7. Surprisingly quick
8. Clean Utah title
9. The wreck will require front quarter panels left and right, probably rad support, and possibly inner fenders. Don't believe there's any frame damage. Doors are just fine. I drove it in my neighborhood and it drives straight with no pull either way. I have a red hood.

For the right guy this would be a great candidate for a swap or to repair. Would be looking for $12k.

For the sake of all those still wondering about this truck.

I purchased the HDJ80 from Snowtire in March. The old girl has been resting comfortably in my shop, while I collect front end parts. So far, I tracked down a set of JDM headlights, radiator core support, and inner/outer fenders, all from helpful Mud members. I have a factory bumper which was removed from my '93 HDJ81, but I opted to go with ARB on both.

I still need to source a front valence panel, and a right-side fender flare.

I am currently working on another project, but I expect to get rolling on this rig sometime in June. I will post more updates as I get to them.

I picked up a pair from a fellow in Utah about a month ago. I'm set on headlights.

The front valance can still be purchased new from Toyota. I just picked one up for my project.
