Anyone know how to disable the factory security system on a 93. It keeps going off so I had to unplug the horn. I did not see a serperate fuse for it . Thanks!

Do you want to disarm it completely or just so that you dont have to start the rig within twenty seconds from opening any door?

If you want to disarm it, put the key in ignition, turn to the on position (do not start the rig though) and then, on the lower left side of the dash, you should see where there is the switch to change the alarm. I believe you push the button and hold it on the valet side for about twenty seconds. Then, the light will blink, and you let it go. You should now be able to access your rig without the alarm sounding everytime.

Hopefully this helps........sorry if it doesnt......................I have had one to many  so I might have it wrong.

Chans

I hate to "Me Too"...but ME TOO!
IF I try to use a key to unlock the doors the alarm goes off as soon as the door opens! I have the valet option set on mine but I still have to use the remote to unlock or the alarm sounds..... I finally installed a toggle switch on the horn circuit!
No one pays attention to the damn things anyway, I would just as soon pitch it!

My '94 alarm is pretty sensitive as well... Is is adjustable?

I have a solid red light after messing with the radio, any idea's to rid it as it gets annoying at night....?

Me Too...I am having intermittent problems with my ignition, and I think it has to do with the TDS alarm. About once every 3 months, my starter will turn the motor over, but no fire. I think it's when I possibly switch the valet switch by accident with my foot (while I am driving) and it throw the whole thing for a loop. Sometimes, disconnecting the battery for a few minutes fixes it, other times I have to let it sit for 10 hours or so. I would love to just pull it and get rid of the alarm all together. anybody found any other threads to just pull it out?

Thanks,

Finally uninstalled mine completely.
It was some time ago, but it was pretty easy.
Unplug the box under the drivers seat, then pull down the lower dash on the drivers side, there should be two large connectors that splice into the main harness that runs up the steering column (I believe the connectors were white... it was pretty obvious that the connectors were made to splice inline on the factory harness). Just unplug both of these connectors and remove, then plug the factory harness from the dash area back into the harness that runs up the steering column
Clear as mud?

Your remote won't work any more, but it was a small price to pay to get rid of the alarm.

Got 'er done. My TDS harness and "brains" were not under the DS seat though. The brains were zip tied to the back of the AC duct running under the steering column.

Everything went very smooth, just like you said Firedog. I took lots of good pictures, but I think I am too new to post them??

Thanks!

Don't remember what the requirements were for posting pic's if you aren't a "Silver Star Supporter", but i know that you can post a buttload of them if you are! There is a link at the top under announcements that tells you how to join (if interested)

greg, im interested in you pics. make an account at photobucket.com and upload them, then copypaste the html.

I have a 94 toyota Celica that has been running fine for the last couple off years.
Lately my alarm is giving me hassles and Toyota no longer sells this alarm unit or the remote controls.
Bypassing the alarm is not possible because the engine needs a 10 bit code to start it and this alarm generates it.
My alarm is the TVSS II with a 26 pin connector and with heat it will not desactivate.
I am a electronics technician and have developed a small board that generates the engine code and car starts even with alarm activated.
Engine code can be seen with a oscilloscope and easily replicated.
Cost off solution is less than 10 Euros.
I am in need off a manual for this alarm unit.
Should anyone have a copy that they can send i would be most grateful.

From 2008 to now 2020. Hope you're still on mud. Did it ever cause you to not have spark? And just had issues with it starting?
