Got my driveshaft back today, 4" longer, nice job by Custom Fabrication in Salmon Arm. Press fit both ends and trhen welded and lathed. 100 bucks :bounce: Ordered all my rad hoses and intake plumbing from siliconeintakes.com. good prices, good quality stuff by the looks of it. Welded in my oil dump into the pan today. Im not going to use my water lines to the turbo, seems redundant from most guys experience. going with a push button start wiith key power(bypassing the neutral safety) its damn cold out so it's slow goin....... yea im a pussy, im also not getting paid :meh:

cheers all

The no crank issue is going to be related to the Park-Neutral safety switch wiring in the automatic trans harness.

There's a loop that goes into the trans switch, that comes back out again and goes to the starter relay. You'll either have to loop and connect the offending wires, or run a different wire to the starter. I would go for looping the trans harness wires. There should be a large-ish plug from the main harness to the tranny that has this in it...

Thanks, I wanted to go that route initially, But im going with key power to a momentary switch to heavy duty solenoid to starter wire. also going with same setup for glow plugs with 10.5V NGK's. This way i dont have to guess and mess with any stock wiring and it can be tucked away and quietly forgotten about.... I will however need to find reverse lights on the H55F, but that should be less of a headache.
Rad recore for the stock LJ rad was expensive but not as much as a new rad i'd figure. I had the guy delete the trans cooler inside as well.
Got a new bosch hand primer as mine was leaking BAD. Okanagan Diesel Injection in vernon had a bunch in stock for cheap if anyone needs one, I recommend the part, easy as pie to install.
Picked up a Racor fuel/water seperator to replace my leaking hand pump/filter assy on the LJ, comes with a bracket and in/outs on both sides. Turns out the metal ring under the primer plunger on the LJ was leaking as i was pumping......air..

Bled the lines today, glowed her, and blamo. A couple small oil leaks from not so tight fittings, but all in all pretty good in the minute or so that i ran it.
idles real nice.

Just waitin on some rad plumbing and im ready to put the grille back on and start on the suspension.

CHEERS! happy monday!

Hey does anyone know if the exhaust manifold brace that the 13bt has that runs from the block up to the mounting holes on the bottom of the manifold is necessary? the manifold is pretty beefy, but im thinking it COULD cause cracking if the turbo is too much weight and with the temps.... whats the consensus on this?
Thanks.

Congrats bud! Thats an awesome upgrade. You could make a business out of this with your experiences.. Long live the Prado! :grinpimp: Looking forward to hearing a road /off test report.

13BT doesn't come with this brace from factory as a top mount turbo. However, 12HT and 1HDT do come with this brace.:hhmm:

Got the clutch line run. welded on a mounting tang to the left frame rail for the flex hose. its gonna be a tight area behind the turbo downpipe, i'll say that. Probably end up wrapping that section of exhaust with that heat tape stuff..
Clutch works, bled it, beautiful.
Took a look at the throttle cable off the LJ, definitley need a new mount and a different arm for the throttle body. The stock arm on the 3B is all stress cracked and broke into 4 peices after playing with it for a few minutes....probably just make a new one along with a homebrew mount for the cable. It looks like it wll reach without any harsh bends.
Replaced glow plugs with NGK Y125T(i think thats the #) 10.5V
I discovered I have an intake heater( like a big glow plug off the power feed post on the intake) do all 3b's have this? cool. do the glow plug and this all run off the same post? or should they be hooked up separate?
Rad should be done tommorow, ready for pick up, and a nice ding to the bank accnt.
I was looking at another post (DanSBj40) and saw the heater line running on the opposite side of the engine. I was thinking of this as mine runs dangerously close to the hot side of the turbo and would probably not last too long. :hhmm: I'll do that tommorow.
Im also stared at the mess of extra wiring coming up the left and right inside fenders. Lots of unused wires. Ill be retaining the two water sensors, the 3 grounds, the oil press. sensor, and not much else... which leave about a thousand or so wires......
ciao for now

Hey, anyone need 2lte ECT or 4WD modules? Dont think ill be using them so make an offer. also have auto shifter, pwr steering resivoir, glow relay and some other stuff....

Thanks Gecko, I figure i can manage that one. Love youre rigs, awesome.

As for the brace, does anyone know if these are available? I might just make one up, looks fairly straight forward.

took us a while to fit it good luck. Have fun with the 3b turboed looks a good job.

If you got time to post a pic, i wouldnt mind havin a look. Just looked like a simple hook up is all. This build is definitely testing my skillset, Any and all help and advice is greatly appreciated.

Cheers!
