Howdy all, before i start I want you all to know I have spent the past hour using the "search" function.:)
I just bought a 1991 FJ80 that has been sitting for a year. Among all the other maintenance it needs, it desperately needs new tires. A friend of mine has a set of 2017 Tacoma 16x7 alloy wheels with 265/70/16 tires and is willing to let them go for $400. Tires have about 80% tread left so i am thinking a good deal? Anyways, after searching it seems they will fit but i will need spacers and new lug nuts? 1.5 " spacers? What type of lug nuts? Thanks all!

You would use the lugnuts that go with that particular wheel. Ask your buddy if he'll throw them in. If not, get a good look at them and order the same type.

IDK the differences in backspacing from Tacos to 80’s but at worst a set of quality spacers for some $200 & the wheel is the same pattern - so there’s that.

If you just want budget wheel tire combo, they sound like a option.

Yes, just looking for a stopgap before the lift comes in may. A that point Ill get new wheels and tires more suitable.
Thanks all!

specs on factory tacoma wheels so you can get an idea on the wheel backspacing, Wheel Specs

They will fit without spacers, I have 285/75/17 on my steel wheels. drove around couple weeks till I got spydertrax 1.5 spacers. I use open ended cone nuts.

This is true, if you don't mind looking like a goofball, and you don't take the corners like a race car, you can run them without spacers. Assuming they're the same size/backspacing as my ~2015 tacoma steel spares.

2017 Tacoma wheels has a +25mm offset/5.0 BS on a 7" wheel FYI. Without spacers, it will look goofy, so factor in another $200 for a set of spacers. I would rather look for some other deals IMO.

Alright, after doing more research and reading all your comments I have decided to pass on the wheels and go ahead and buy what will fit. Now back to the search.:)
