craigslist 1990 Land Cruiser HDJ81 VX

Hi,

I'm parting with my much loved diesel JDM 80 series (1HD-T engine). We're way up north, but would consider heading to southern Canada to sell it to the right buyer, as we'd be buying a replacement down south anyway. Asking $12,900 CDN. Thanks!

Yeah, sorry, added the price up top. The truck is registered in Canada, I live in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, and that's where the truck is located right now.

I don't think it's old enough to be registered in the states.

ya'lls will just have to wait until 2015/2016 when the 91s/92s will be okay for US import! and by then, hopefully the n. american economy would have picked up and everyone has more disposable income for these toys!

fish78, what's the reason for selling this particular truck (edit: saw the add, expanding family! i hear ya on that one!)? and replacing it with what? another cruiser?!

wrongway - Yeah, the factory front and rear lockers aren't part of the VX package. My truck has the regular ol push button centre diff lock.

romey - You got it, we need more room. We're trying to downsize to just one vehicle though, but we need something that'll seat 7 and tow a 4500lb trailer. If the 80 doesn't sell, i might rip out the platform in the back and install the 3rd row seats from a north american 80. But then i'd still need to buy something to tow with. Still not sure what to do! It's pretty tough selling a vehicle up in the Yukon, not a lot of potential buyers up here!

i hear ya fish78! which is why we picked up a jdm delica, but it's got a small'ish motor so no heavy towing (don't need to tow anyway). hmm, maybe you can find a diesel suburban or for with 3rd row seating! btw, what rig is that on your avatar?!

That was my first foray into JDMs, a '90 LJ78 Prado. Great little truck, but always worried about overheating (cracked the head first month i owned it). Sold it when we bought the 80.
