Hi all,

I believe I have a bad external voltage regulator. I can't seem to find an identical replacement but cruiserparts.net has been super helpful and has one that they think will work with some splicing. Has anyone done this or does anyone have a wiring diagram for the external voltage regulator to help with it?

Also, I have no idea what that extra relay added in is for. The plug coming out of the regulator and the plug on the other side of the added relay appear original so I am not sure what the purpose of it was.

I am attaching some photos of the existing one and the potential replacement.

Thanks!

I actually found a brand new one at a Toyota dealership that was perfect. I think it was in Illinois. I'll check this evening.

This is the correct part number for the LJ7* 27700-15030 . Maybe the 27700-15040 is an updated part number.

My 1988 seems to have the same need, but slightly different looking. Same plug it appears. I'm going to try the local Toyota dealer with the numbers posted above. Crossing fingers.

I was able to get one from Advance the next day. :) Just matched up the plug in the pic. Same for my Hilux - just a different harness.
