The nuts and bolts:
1988 Toyota SR5 4x4 Stick Pickup
Blue/Blue
8289 Miles, yes, really
Located in Albuquerque, NM

The story:
My dad bought this truck new, used it for the occasional mountain trip, and even more rarely in town. He usually drove his accord, which has been sold, also a manual. A few years ago he lost his right leg from cardiovascular disease, and after pricing hand controls realizes it would be best to part with the truck.

Tenatively, as a pure guess, pricing the truck at 15k, it's probably really high, but then again it's likely the cleanest, lowest mile second gen 22re Toyota Pickup on the planet. So it's not like KBB or NADA is any help.

Oh yeah, I've been lurking here for a while because I really like fj80/90/100 LC's, and may wind up buying one in the near future... I plan on going back to school and may not be able to afford my STi.... but that's beside the point....

Now for pics (my buddy suggested I watermark them.)

Drool factor is hudge on this rig.

Third yota I ever owned and would love to own this if I had the cash:popcorn:

Thanks man.

I'm not taking it because I really hope it goes to a good home, perhaps a collector (though this isn't a normal collector car). It's just too nice for what I would do to it.

very cool truck. i really hope you get $15K for it, for your dad.

i'd get it out of the garage and detail it and ditch the purple seat covers and dash pad. start posting it on all the toyota truck forums and somebody might get it.

a really long shot, but call the toyota museum in torrance, ca.

I just got done e-mailing the museum on a suggestion from a friend who is a toyota enthusiast (5 mkIII supras, a MKIV Supra, just sold an SW020 MR2, has an AW11 MR2, a t100, and a Lexus LS400 (92ish).

Hopefully next weekend I'll get her detailed and yank off the mat and seat covers. I'll also try to get a collection of documentation together.

FYI it also has a drop in bed liner (EG NOT a rhino liner type).

Any other suggestions on stuff to look for, document, people to talk to?

Why the watermark? It's not like the truck is rare.

i would say more for people on ebay steeling pics and using them themselves. happends all the time.

still a damn clean truck. but take that thing out and wash it.

Free bump for ya and I hope you get exactly what you are asking for it!! I had this exact truck through high school and college, sold it with 259K on it and still going strong. I STILL see the truck around town sometimes and wish I still had it...(I sold it in '97)

If only......I hope it finds a really good home.

Curt

Holy crap, that is amazing.

Yeah, you need to get that thing out of the garage, give it a good bath, and get some better pics. Those don't do it justice.

Good luck.

Another thing I wanna throw out there, I really don't have a price in mind, I just guessed. I'll consider all reasonable offers. I won't take under 5k, and of all the offers I haven't had any over 12k so far.

So you are saying you did not accept the 12K offer???

BTW, it sure cleaned up nicely.....You might be right...it does belong in a museum.......my driveway !!!!!!!!

that's the cleanest and nicest one of those I've ever seen!
