Not mine, but I was driving past the local Ford dealership and nearly drove off the road when I saw this sweet FJ62.

Be more than happy to check it out for anyone and test drive.

Nice Rig!

looks nice. Theft recovery from long ago, so my guess would be salvaged title...if that matters.

Just saw this! ZCruiser, do you happen to know if it's still on the lot? It looks pretty nice in the pics. Did you notice any glaring issues? If you're willing to test drive it I might be willing to fly out from Denver to drive it home. :)

Still there as of yesterday, and I'd love to have an excuse to go check it out! I really didn't see anything right off the bat, it looked good inside and out... They had even fixed the outside edge of the driver's seat which always breaks down and the dash was intact. I did not try windows out for the state of the regulators but that's sometimes hard to tell unless it gets cold.

How do you know it's theft recovery? Was it somewhere on the dealer page or did you get that from the VIN?

What someone is willing to pay.

The dealer website had a link to the carfax or autocheck, don't recall which. I seem to recall a theft and theft recovery in 1995 listed. I "assume" salvage title based on that, but I did not research it that hard...just giving a heads up to potential buyers.

D'oh! I see that now... Back in 1995 at 116,000 miles. Appears to have clear title now.
Only one accident reported in 2000 involving the windshield.

I don't know... Sounds pretty sketchy to me... I don't think anyone should even THINK about buying it... :D

Right! :)

Probably titled in NC, and I don't believe that is one of the 11 states that issues a Salvaged title based on theft anyways. I'm no expert though...

Just put down a deposit on it. Looks like I'll be making a trip out to NC very soon. Thanks for all your help, Steve! I'm taking you and your family out for a nice dinner once I get out there!

A few more pics for your enjoyment, Mike!

Thanks, Z. The windshield sprayer shouldn't be too difficult to fix. Outside of that and the couple other minor issues we talked about it looks like it's in incredible shape for a 27yr old truck. I might throw a new set of tires on it before I make the drive back. And I'd like to go back to factory wheels if I can find a set in good shape for a reasonable price. I can't say enough how grateful I am to you for checking it out. Definitely gives some peace of mind when buying remotely. Did you happen to check the A/C? Not a huge concern but would be nice if it did. It would be really cool if the seat warmer worked, too!

Oh rats forgot to check the A/C, but I saw that the system had pressure. I can go up any time and follow up on items I missed before you come out.

No worries, Z. The dealer said he turned it on and it did blow cold. That's good enough. Honestly, for that price I'm still way ahead even if I had to do some A/C work. That truck would easily go for $18k or higher in the Denver area.

That would be me.

still finalizing the deal then I have to arrange shipping. Hope to have it here by the end of the week.
