SOLD!!!

This gorgeous FJ62 is in remarkable shape for its age, and it is very evident that the vehicle has been well cared for. This ZERO RUST truck has had a fairly recent original color repaint. It shows well and has a very nice clean look to it, in spite of a few very minor dings on the passenger side doors and rear gate. The chassis has roughly 164k miles while the OEM engine has only 71k miles. Interior is clean and almost all stock, other than the Alpine Blue Tooth stereo and Kenwood speakers upgrade. Everything functions properly. The wipers function as intended along with the rear wiper which is rare. A/C has been upgraded to R134a refregerant and blows cold and strong. The engine fires right up and the transmission and transfer case shift and engage smoothly. The ride and suspension is smooth, the steering is tight, and the brakes are solid. This wonderful truck drives down the highway at 75 mph with ease and tracks the road nicely, does not wander or pull. Vehicle has received the following service work; Valve adjustment, transmission filter and flush, steering knuckles rebuilt, new wiper blades, new front windshield, new plugs, new water pump, new air and fuel filters, 5 new BF Goodrich AT Tires (<500 mi), new KYB Gas Adjust shocks. Vehicle is a perfect match for anyone that wants something authentic, vintage, functional as a driver, and low maintenance. The vehicle comes with factory owners manual and complete, pristine original jack and tool kit. If you're in the market for a FJ62 you'll be very hard pressed to find one in nicer condition. I'm asking $20,950 and have it listed on CarGurus at Used Toyota Land Cruiser For Sale - CarGurus if you want to see detailed picture. PM me if you have any questions.

Beautiful!
I bought my '88 19 years ago with 60,000 miles on the odo. Sold it 4.5 years later to buy a '93. The '88 is the only vehicle of all I have owned that I wish I still had. Such a unique rig. Good luck with the sale.

love it. hate the price! ever come down to 12k I would make the trip
up from TX. goog luck.

If you find any truck like this for $12k, I will buy all of them... A steal at $12k and every seller knows it.

It's a flip.

According to the linked ad, new paint, rebuilt front axle, water pump, and my favorite "new engine seals".

Truck looks good, someone bought it, cleaned it up, and is selling it. If the work is good and the truck runs well, maybe even not a bad price.

I sold mine for $11,000 with 118,000 miles and it was in pretty darned nice shape with no rust ever. That was a few years back though. Prices have definitely gone way up since then.

..agreed. thinking about selling my 62 given i haven't driven it in 4 weeks and prices are good. tough call really...

Looks nice! for that tag though I want OME lift and 33s :) that's just personal preference though

I agree... but key is "If the work is good".... If they went through the trouble of painting the car with quality... why didn't they take out the dents on the passenger side? maybe dents after the paint job? I would hope so... if not maybe not the quality your referring to?

my turn to nit pick, wrong belt on the PS, no lid on the washer tank,1 different lug nut in 1 pic. they could have the entire body painted but not the inside of the tailgate.

It's WAY cheaper to scuff and spray than spend any time fixing dents. And the dents aren' that bad. But I would rather see it cut and buffed, even if it had a faded white roof and hood.

However, it looks nice now.

To answer some questions and comments:
I bought this vehicle with a bad engine. She had already been repainted when I got her. The paint work is excellent and I can not find any evidence of previous bodywork and there is no rust anywhere in this truck. I did paint and body work professionally for 15 years before moving on to other things, so I do know what to look for. The previous owner just wanted a fresh shiny paint job. The few dings there are on it, are what appear to be very light, hardly noticeable, door dings, no chipped paint, just dings. I really wanted to fix this baby up and keep it for my personal toy because it was in such great condition. I was, however, laid off from the oil and gas industry last year and am forced to sell the truck. I would much rather keep her but it is what it is.
About the engine swap, the truck had developed a coolant leak and lost enough coolant to allow it to overheat and blow the head gasket. I was going to just have the head work done but located a low mileage used engine and since the truck was in such great condition i decided swapped the entire engine instead. Since I had the engine sitting in the shop and it did have 71k miles I decided to go through it and refresh the gaskets and seals. Seeing that i had it in the shop for an engine I figured it was a good time to go through the front end as well.
Oh, and the "one different lug" is actually one on every wheel. It's called a locking lug and the socket for it/them is in with the tool kit.

Like I said, she's a great truck, runs and drives beautifully. I am glad to answer any questions and take picture or videos of whatever you like. If you are interested, make me a reasonable offer.

Kudo's to you. It's so easy for members to bash a nice truck, assume the worst from a relatively new member. Instead of shooting arrows back at the different jabs that were made, you take the high road and simply explain the questions that were brought up. Shows your character. I like that.

And I like the truck
