SOLD!!

I had listed this a while back after I killed the project I had planned for it. A buddy wanted the truck for a build he wanted to do. So I held onto the truck for him. He has changed his mind now so I list the truck again. I tired to find the other thread rather than make a new one but couldn't find it.

So what am I selling? I am selling a super solid FJ62 less the motor, axles and suspension.

The body has zero rust. It has original paint in pretty darn good condition. This truck originally came from Georgia. I don't think it ever saw the dirt. I think it was used by a soccer mom until it blew up it's motor at about 207,000 miles. There is some very small shopping mall dents (from carts) in the body, very small as in eraser head size. There is a bit of damage to the tailgate, a dent. The rest of the body is mint, not a single spot of rust on it anywhere. The frame is just as mint, nearly perfect, no rust and the factory paint still on it and in good condition. Paint is a little oxidized but will clean up nicely with just a wax. No rot whatsoever at the rear leaf hangers or at the rear frame rails like is common on FJ60/62s. The interior is also in very good shape. Glass is all there and in great shape, except the windshield, that is gone. Wiring harness is uncut.

I got the truck back in 2011. My plan was to build it into my main overland/adventure truck. I have since got an 80 I am happy with. The 62 has no axles or suspension. They were sold off a long time ago. The leaf spring hangers were cut off the frame, no damage to frame. The motor is toast, hole in block and oil pan. The trans is here and it may or may not be good. The t-case is also here and I think it is good, no way to verify though. Everything else is here. The motor was parted, what was good on it. So no head, no EFI and so forth. Good fuel tank still under the truck. Brake master and booster still on firewall, brake & fuel lines still on the chassis. When I got the Cruiser in 2011 I tore it down. Interior all removed, motor + trans pulled. Everything has been stored indoors except for the body on the Cruiser which has been wrapped in tarps since 2011. All hardware when it was torn down is bagged and tagged, no boxes of bolts to deal with.

I put a battery in the truck before I tore it down. All power windows worked except for the rear RHS. All power door locks worked except the rear LHS. Wipers worked, heater worked, head lights & turn signals worked, ect ect.

This is a really great truck to start a build with. It is ready for your 5.3L or 12HT. It also needs axles and suspension but you can take your pick with that, lot's of options. Frame body and interior are mint, I would say 8-9 out of a 10. I purchased a NOS, one of the last, dash cap. This is brand new from Toyota, cost me nearly $700. I also have an NOS windshield gasket that goes with the truck. I have a few things I will toss in too if you want them. Such as a set of FJ60/62 orignal wheels in good condition. I also have an FZJ80 frame if you wanted to do something really custom. It is in great shape but I have cut off the front suspension brackets on the front, ie coil buckets and shock towers. Body mounts we also cut off the frame as it was going under this 62. If you are looking for a super solid project truck to build a custom Cruiser, this is the truck for you! :)

I want SOLD!. No deals, no trades. The Cruiser is sitting on blocks and is a bit of a pain to get up on a trailer. Bring a trailer and we can get it on there no problem. Shippers are not going to want to deal with this though. So best if you come with a truck and trailer yourself.

I forgot to mention, I have a clean Wyoming title in my hand ready to go.

Also to clarify, this is what is missing from the truck;
-axles
-suspension, I do have one OME heavy rear leaf pack you can have, it is brand new
-windshield glass, NOS gasket included though
-motor, has hole in block and pan, anything good on the motor was sold
-rear heater, it is in a buddies BJ40. :)
-steering box, using it on another project
-original tape deck, sold it to an enthusiast!

I really want to build this up myself with a 5.3L, 4L60e, split case and some RuffStuff housings on leaves or linked. It is just begging for that. Great project for somebody to build that dream Cruiser! :)

Cheers

where in WY is this?
so currently the shell is stripped of everything, but it is all included? some pics show all the interior and others show it empty.

Jackson, Wyoming.

And yes you are correct. Shell got stripped of pretty much everything, parts all stored indoors. Headliner still in it, stuff you see on the firewall still in it, steering column and related parts still in it and not much else I can think of besides fuel/brake lines and wiring harness on the chassis.

Cheers

By the way, there is one thing I would take in trade towards the 62. That being a stock 80-series front axle housing. All I need is the housing. I may also take a 9.5" center, prefer an 80 rear with e-locker but might consider a 60/62 center with ARB. Only other item I would consider would be a RuffStuff 9.5" housing.

Cheers
