**SOLD**

I have a 1987 Hilux Surf right hand drive 4x4 with the 2LT 2.4 diesel, 5 speed, A/C, PS, electric windows, Electric locks with 79,000 miles. This is their top of the line SSR-LIMITED model. I have the original owners manual and service manual as well. I had someone offer me CRAZY money for the manuals alone, but felt this adds value to a complete JDM rig. I don't need to preach how rare and fun these trucks are. I LOVE the truck and the attention it gets. I have WAY to many vehicles and I'm the only who drives this one. The princess :princess: only wants to drive her LX & my diesel 80 (auto & left hand drive).

This is one, if not the cleanest low mileage Surfs I've run across. interior is pristine for it's age...and everything works. It has a couple of spots of rust (normal first gen holding spots & 2 spots where they had something mounted to the very forward frame rail). It has a CA title and is titled as a DIESEL...so NO SMOG!! It's a blast to drive :steer: and find myself looking for an excuse just to drive it. Kind of a fresh of breath air instead of just a means of transportation.

Looking to see if anyone was interested in it and trying to determine a value. There are NON to be found stateside and the others I've found in other countries are expensive high mileage beater rust buckets. I know Ebay will fetch top dollar, but may also end up in the hands of someone who can't truly appreciate what it is...and probably to an out of state buyer who can't appreciate that this one has NO problems in Kalifornia. Would like to keep it in the local YOTA enthusiast family:D Have had a couple friends and MUD members drive the truck. Always fun to see their reaction and uncontrollable smile.

Thank you,

Brian

How is this 2.4 liter engine durability wise? did they have headgasket issues or other common issues.?

can this engine push a 33" tire or does it start to show its size as tires get to this size?

Hey Bugs. Sorry for the tardy reply. I've heard guys push 300K on theirs with no issues. Others not so much. Sounds much like the 1FZE and HG experiences. A pyro, boost gauge, and water temp gauge are essential for monitoring the vitals. These should be treated no differently.

In regards to 33's, It'll still feel like you're pushing bigger tires. Will take it better then a 22R, but will still be noticeable. Enclosed are some cool vids from the Top Gear guys. They try and kill one of these. Entertaining:popcorn:
