Well... I would like to sell my 1987 FJ60. I've wanted one for a long time but right now i just don't need it and it doesn't see much use. Was kind of an impulse buy. I would like it to go to a good home, hence why i'm posting it here in Mud.
Details on the truck;
238K miles, but don't be shy its very well maintained.
Rebuilt T-case around 10k ago. New starter, alternator, and cooling system.
Desmogged using Jim C's kit and expertise. Runs really well and went from 12 mpg to 15 mpg. Being an 1987 it no longer has to be smogged in WA!
New Heavy Duty battery cables from Mark G.
Tune up using CCOT's kit. (Not the complete kit though)
Doesn't burn or leak any oil. Starts up strong and like an FJ60 should. Clutch is good, transmission shifts smooth.
Has a newish paint job from the previous owner. NO Dents and NO RUST!! This truck looks really nice. Is not a ten footer by any means.
Has a really nice re-upholstered leather interior. Super comfy. Six disc cd changer.
I'm located a ferry ride away from Seattle, WA. For the right price the truck will come with a brush guard. Its no ARB but it looks decent and has light tabs.
4300 Or Best Offer
I am motivated to sell but i know what its worth. I would like to sell pretty quickly as well. I would consider a trade for a 4runner or Pickup 4x4 with the 22re ONLY! Maybe a Single Cab Tacoma too. Possibly cash on my end for a Tacoma. And of similar stock condition, obviously.

Cheers!
Nathan

Thanks!

Any idea if there was rust that was fixed when it was painted? Also how is the frame? Any pictures of the frame, esp the rear area of the frame near the spare tire?

Thanks,
Zack

EDIT: Was not repainted from what i learned from the PO today with a little chat.
The frame is fine. I'll get pictures up tomorrow. The underside is coated with that gooey rust preventative stuff. Other than being dirty from years of road use its great.

Friday Bump... WITH PICTURES!
Let me know if you want any more of the area or any other area. Ground was wet so had to rush.

Bump.
Not a whole lot of interest. Am i doing something wrong?

Winter Storm Bump... Seriously, No one wants a clean FJ60?
As this is still my truck and i still love driving it i'll be putting a flowmaster 50 series with 2.5" inch pipe on it soon. Also contemplating trollhole. Price might change, might now.
Can anyone with experience chime in on why there's no interest? Price to high? Something visibly ugly or wrong about it?
Thanks!

Price seems right to me... Only things might be a potential detractor are the custom interior, and miles. I happen to really DIG IT!!!

Cold hard facts:

The market for a 2+ ton, 10 MPG, 25 year old rig is really bad right now. You really have to love these things.

Hold tight, enjoy your rig while you can, and wait for the right buyer.

Good to know someone thinks it's cool. :)
Yeah sounds like i need to be patient. High miles does scare a lot of people. What do you mean by custom interior?

By custom I mean "other than stock". ie color, fabric, aftermarket anything etc.

Some people are purists and anything different than how it came off the assembly line is considered bad taste.

As I stated, I think it's tasteful and very nice.

GLWS.

I see. Well thanks for the kind words! We'll see if i end up driving it a little while longer or not.
Cheers!

So the body is totally free of rust then? Also what happened to the front marker lights?

Zack

Yes totally free of rust. The lights burned out... And when i went to replace them the connector crumbled like dust. Its very common. I just haven't spent the 60 bucks it cost to get new ones. Most likely i will soon though cause it bugs me and i still drive it.

First of all, sweet ride. I also dig the interior.

I think the problem is the combination of it not being 100% stock for the purists, it has too many miles for people who don't know anything about these trucks, a crappy market for heavy gas guzzlers (relatively speaking), and it's too nice/expensive for someone that just wants a 4 wheeling rig. In other words, you have a narrowed market in an already narrow market.

Tough spot to be in, but if you wait, someone will buy it. I'd love to, but I think the wife would kill me if I drug another one home right now. And there is always someone out there that wants it. The exception being any of the Kardashian sisters, nobody wants those.

Bump. New job 2 1/2 hours away. I need this rig to sell. Looking at any offers around 3500.

I'll take one of the Kardashian's on trade for this. With some money on your end. :D
