FSM shows a diode in each door switch circuit, Driver's and Passenger's, with the switch closing ground with door open. My Driver's door works fine and continuity to ground on the chassis side (through the diode) has been confirmed. The Passenger's side door does not turn on the dome light, door switch is good, continuity to ground fails on chassis side of circuit. I suspect this diode is toast, at least that's the next component to rule out.

Where in the world did Toyota hide these diodes?

Thanks, S.

its grounding through the door switch.
mine get dirty if the truck sits.
i snap and turn them to get them going again.

I feel like I remember seeing them but can't remember where. They isolate the other door/s from the driver door for the key buzzer and key light. here is a thread on the 80 series location

Thanks for the response liveoak, yes I reviewed that thread and it doesn't help finding the diode location in my 87' 4Runner. I'm not exactly clear what I'm looking for really so that doesn't help. Is it buried under a lump of harness wrap tape somewhere? Is it plugged in via connectors? FSM doesn't give any indication. thanks, S.
