1987 4Runner 4x4

1987 $runner. 4x4. Blus. 22R 4 cylinder engine, power everything, 31x10x15 mud tires, brush gaurd, CD player $1800

I called the guy he said it runs good 160,000 miles daily driver. It needs a paint job. I have plans to go look at it tomorrow. Any advice on what to look at and does this sound like a good deal?

SOunds like a good deal, check thoroughly for rust and ask him not to start it between now and tomorrow. When you start it up listen for a timing chain rattle and watch for smoke from the tailpipe.

Other than that, just common sense stuff, look for evidence of leaks in the rear compartment, check CVs, U joints, etc etc

It shouldn't be a rocket ship but should run up to 75-80 relatively quickly on the freeway.
