SOLD!
After trying to hang on to my beloved 60 as long as I can, it's time to sell. I have a 97 80 as well and well, my wife hates the 60 and because of that and money, it has to go.
Details:
1986 FJ60, just under 201,000 miles. $4000 OBO
The good:
- 2F runs great
- TK Customs Front Prerunner style winch bumper. This is the last front bumper this rig will ever need.
- Upgraded rear brakes to discs.
- 4 - BFG AT 33x12.5x15 tires with 15" rims. Still needs a full size spare.
- Replaced the windshield. It's in perfect shape and does not leak.
- Rebuild on the carb - Done by Mark's Offroad. Includes his performance improvement mod.
- All belts are new
- AC runs great and blows cold.
- Changed all of the fluids a couple years ago.
- Stock stereo replaced with Alpine CD player and door speakers replaced with Alpine speakers. I also added 2 more in the rear compartment. All it needs is an amp and subwoofer to scare the small children that live in your area.
- New 3 stage telescoping antenna.
- New battery and terminals. No corrosion
- Trailer hitch
- The interior is in 99% perfect condition. There are a couple of dents in the wheel well covers in the back, but it really is in awesome shape overall!
- Carb fan works great.
- Full tune up done just over a year ago.
- Valve adjustment and timing adjustment recently done.
- Passed CO emissions easily.
- New Thermostat within the last 2 years.
- New Ignition Coil
- New Fuel Pump
- New distributor rotor, cap, wires and spark plugs
- Cobra CB
- Replaced stock sealed headlights with IPF Euro-spec lenses and H4 bulbs.
- 4WD works great.
- I did a full POR-15 undercoating on it 4 years ago, which saved it from the winters in CT. It could use another coating though, but has held up well. Surface rust only underneath and the frame is still in good shape.
- It does leak a little oil. I believe it's the valve cover gasket. It has been low on my list of priorities.
- There is some minor rust on the upper tailgate in 3 spots.
- The right side was completely redone after I slid into a guard cable when I lived in CT. It looks great. The left side is all original and has some rust near the bottom of the wheelwells. It's not very far gone and can be repaired, but has not been on my list of priorities either.
- The suspension is original and needs to be replaced. If I kept it, this would be my next project. I think this is really the only thing this rig needs to be great. It does not rub with normal driving, but if you take an off camber curb it will rub slightly.
- I'm keeping the Land Cruiser bottle opener
