Hi guys and gals,

**PRICE DROPPED TO $3000**

I should also add that this truck has been my daily driver for the last 2 years!

The body has a lot of the normal rust spots (particularly bad above windshield and around inner door jams), but mechanically it's in great shape. I did a write-up last year on passing California smog, and I have all the records of everything I've done to it since I bought it last year.

I also have a stack of records from the previous owner, including the paperwork for the engine rebuild that was done less than 15,000 miles ago (at a cost of more than $4000).

The price is [STRIKE]pretty firm at $4000[/STRIKE], and I'll be including every spare part that I have left from the parts truck that I had last year.

Feel free to shoot me a message if you have any questions.

-Seth

Yikes! How does the truck get so much rust on the windshield, but nothing on the quarter panels or rockers? My truck has bad rockers and quarter panels, but the windshield is totally fine. It has spen it's entire life in NJ.

That is an ailment solely a result of a surfer who liked to put his boards up on the top... And never rinse it off. Looks to be rusted where the seawater would have dripped forward around the windshield and down the door jams.

Very sad, because it is a beautiful truck! GLWS

Sadly my search for a rust free fj60 body marches on.....

Is it white or beige?

It is beige. Oh, and I should mention that it's hard to tell in the photo, but the back left quarter panel had been repainted at some point in the more recent past, so it's color doesn't match exactly to the rest of the car :p

Weekend Bump for a great reliable 60!

Did you just pick this up from Vegas by chance? Could have swarn I saw one on the LV craigslist recently but the guy never responded to me after multiple emails.

Nope, I actually got it the beginning part of 2011 here in California

Do you have any pics of the interior or undercarriage? Is the dent in the bumper the only body dent?

Where in LA are you? I'll be back there on Sunday.

Sorry it took so long to respond! I don't have any pics of the undercarriage at the moment, but it is in great shape. There are various minor dents and scratches here and there (including the one on the bumper), but the biggest area of body work done was on the rear left quarter panel. The previous owner said that someone at a repair shop backed a car into it. It was pounded out, bondo'd and painted. Unfortunately, the paint on that panel is in significantly better shape than the paint on the rest of the truck, so in certain light it stands out. Otherwise, as you can see on the photos, it needs significant rust repair around the windshield.

THE GOOD
I have owned this truck for over a year, and in that time here is a partial list of things I've replaced or repaired:

• Carburetor Rebuild (Paid $450)
• Smog Pump
• Power Steering Pump
• New Brakes (All Wheel Cylinders, All Pads, All Shoes, New Rear Drums...I have the new rotors for the front, just haven't installed yet)
• New Clutch, Throwout Bearing, Pressure Plate
• Rear Main Seal
• Oil Pan Gasket
• Intake/Exhaust Manifold Gasket
• New Exhaust (Catalytic Converter, Muffler)
• Valve Adjustment
• New A/C Drier (The A/C system is ready to be converted by charging with R134, but hasn't been done yet)

THE BAD
For the sake of full disclosure, here is a list of things that I imagined I would do if I kept the truck (or things that need to be done):

• Fix rust around windshield
• Charge A/C
• New Tires all around (Just recently got a flat, and am rolling on the full-size spare at the moment, but don't want to buy tires if I'm going to sell the truck)
• Rebuild Knuckles (one of them is pretty leaky)
• Install rotors (Preferably when you rebuild the knuckles )
• Check EGR Valve (I think it's sticking intermittently, so I disconnected the vacuum line to it)
• Exhaust Leak (There is a small exhaust leak coming off the downpipe to the EGR system, I think...it's not completely frustrating, only mildly :bang:)
• Rebuild or replace starter (Recently will intermittently not start on first turn of the key after being run in the heat...after opening the hood and wiggling the exciter wire at the starter it works perfectly and may not do it again for a week... So, definitely the connection of the exciter wire at the starter)

Well, that's about it. I hope that clears things up!
Oh, and should I mention again that I have a whole load of random spare parts and components from the salvage truck I purchased last year and stripped down. Those parts will go with the sale!

I need to sell this truck by Friday, Saturday at the latest! Come on everyone, make me some offers. Cash on hand only, no trades!

Asking $4000, which I believe to be pretty fair considering the running condition of this 60.

Thanks everyone. Feel free to ask me any questions you might have.

Oh, and you know what... I'm feeling generous...I just sold some parts the other day, so how about I lower the asking price to $3750?

Come on now people, where's the love?

Come on now people, where's the love?

Well your truck is exactly what I am looking for.......except the rust. I need a clean totally rust free body to replace my rusty New Jersey FJ60 body. Anyone?

Zack

I saw this truck last week. It's what's described, the top of front window is very rusty, and there'some rust in the passenger-side A-pillar. What's not said is the seller is a smart and meticulous mechanic. If I was king of the world, I would force him to wrench for me.

The rest of truck is extremely solid.

Anyone who's parted an FJ60 in SoCal knows that the shell is usually scrap. IMO it's well worth the money to pull the headliner & front window and patch the roof with a good piece from a parts truck.

So, it looks like I'm going to sell it to the first person who can give me $3000 by Saturday. (now of that's not dangling a carrot, I don't know what is....) $3000 cash is a steal for this Land Cruiser! I just have nowhere to store it while I'm out of the country!

For sale again!

Ok everyone! I'm back in the country and I'm posting this for sale again! I had originally listed it at $4000, then dropped it to 3k before I left. I'm back, and I am willing to sell her for $3500 to the first person with cash in hand! I've replaced the starter, so it's not giving me any trouble anymore, but refer to earlier postings on this thread for photos and details! Thanks guys!

Really, no interest right now?

May, if you would have posted this a day sooner I would have kept my planet ticket to LA and probably scooped it up!

So, the tires... have they been replaced since or do you still recommend replacing them?

Also, how extensive is the rust above the windshield: Does it leak inside and do you think it is salvageable(sp)?

I'm a  man and I need to pick something up that will make it back to Utah.

Oh, and do you happen to know the manufacture month in '85?

Sorry if I missed it!
