Hi everyone-
I recently bought Landcruiser #2 and while driving it around on the maiden voyage I noticed that 4WD indicator light would not come on when in 4WD. I figured I'd check to see if the switch was plugged in on the transfer case and sure enough it wasn't. So I plugged it in and was getting back in to drive to the beer store to celebrate how smart I am when I noticed that upon turning the key to ON the 4WD light lit right up. I verified the transfer case was in 2H and got under the vehicle and verified the forward drive shaft was turning (it was). So for fun I shifted into 4H...and the 4WD indicator light turned off. I got back under the vehicle and confirmed it was in 4WD because the forward drive shaft would not turn by hand. So the green 4WD indicator light is on when in 2H, and goes off when shifted into 4H or 4L (makes perfect sense.). I checked transfer case fluid level and it is right at the bottom of the fill port. I pulled the switch from the transfer case and actuated it by hand while hooked up- 4WD light was coming on with pressure applied, light would go off when pressure released.
I am not sure if that is proper function, but am I missing something?
