Starting a new thread as I've decided to hang on to my 40 for a while. Other thread was getting confusing.

1985 BJ70 LX $10K or best offer

restored in canada about 6-7 years ago

Engine runs well with no smoke

***I have a brand new set of doors that will fix most of the rust problems sitting in my garage.***

Some rust issues have crept back since resto. rear door has top corner rot, drivers and passenger door has minor rot along the bottom edge. Drivers side front pillar has some rust. All in all not bad and looks great!

This truck gets plenty o compliments and people stop me all the time to talk about it.

Underside has been coated and oiled and looks very clean.

Interior is very clean. Super clean. Only missing the small compartment under the radio which is cheap and easy to find.

Heat switch needs a fixin. Can't slide the heat lever to fresh air. Fan switch works so not a big issue. No A/C.

Drives great. Brakes and clutch are sweet. Drives straight. Doors close nicely. Engine runs well.

All lights, radio, etc work.

Currently registered in MA and is my daily driver.

Suspension is very nice. Rides beautifully!

Has Air-Ride type seats as well.

Looking to sell or perhaps a partial trade for a 40 plus cash.

Make me an offer! This is my daily driver right now and is great. I'm in the wine business so I need something bigger to haul cases of wine around in. Selling this so I won't need to have a car payment.

Located in Millis, MA.

PM me and I can send more pics

Bumpage!

C'mon! This truck will re-grow hair, add years to your life, and increase your sex drive.

How many kms on it?

looks decent for 10, especially with a set of doors.

always wanted one, but shmuck was warning me about the size of the cockpit vs my 6'4" ness, so im not gonna leap at one of these till i get a cruise in his. i already have a D110nas i cant fit in.

howz comez that one panel looks "off". was it bondo'd and skimmed?

Looks nice.

Is the PS a coupla tones of color off? Or is it just me?

Damn, I wish I had more space.

12V

Miles are 234k on the body and the engine was replaced at some point in the last 3 years with a reconditioned one.

Not sure which panel is "off" perhaps it was the light outside when I took pics? I can look closer but not sure which one to check. The sun was going down when I took those and the ground was wet from washing it so maybe that's darkened it up a bit? In person everything looks straight and uniform in color.

Body was restored 7 years ago and they don't make replacement panels so I would hazard a guess that there is skimcoat of bondo. That's bondo's job! There aren't any globs of bondo and the panels are very straight with no dents at all. As stated before there are some rust areas that will need attention but not the end of the world. I don't take it out in the rain now anyway and it;'s in a heated garage.

It does have some rust issues but it's pretty sweet. Timing is definitely off. It;s on eBay and it's just slugging along. Maybe it's too odd for the general public??

Would trade for a nice FJ55 or a meh LV. Doubting either of those are realistic. Just bought a normal daily driver type car so couldn't use the Mercedes trade anymore.

Thanks for the questions. I was starting to get a complex.

I honestly thought this thing would be long gone by now.

Leaping Deer (Mud handle) was here yesterday to pick up other parts. PM him if you want an honest, in-person opinion!

Thanks Dan!

Huh? my 70 has the most leg and head room out of any cruiser i've had. 40,60 and 80. The right hand drive 70's don't have as much leg room the way the pedals are positioned. I'm 6'4 and my 70 is probably the most comfortable of the cruisers I've been in without seat mods.

what kinda fuel mileage this thing get?
