Liam, my 16 year old, purchased his first truck yesterday. 1985, SR5, 22RE, 5 speed, solid front axle. It has OME springs and rides pretty soft. Runs great, some body rust and dents but frame is clean. He is doing pretty good in day two of learning to drive a manual transmission. He already practiced changing a tire with the tools on-board. He did this with his own cash that he has been saving up.

Lots of plans and things to come!

Now that's the way to start out. Congrats to him!

At some point in that kid's life he will sell that truck for something else sexy. Then, 20 years later he will realize the stupidity of what he did.

So excellent! Thanks for sharing this, you’re renewing my faith in our youth 👍

I never let anything go for something “more sexy”. In my youth, 90% of the time it was a cash flow issue. Now it is a real estate issue.
