Circumstances require that I sell my truck, so here it goes. I bought the truck a little over 2 years ago, and have spent a lot building, and restoring the truck mechanically. That said, I used this vehicle for what it was intended. I spent a lot of time on expedition type trips. One was in Canada, the rest have been here in California. It shows its wear well but certain interior areas are well worn. I take care of my vehicles meticulously. The Vehicle is in Soulsbyville, CA (near Sonora, Modesto) and is registered in California. I can be reached at 831-359-0909, Pm's or Email: askatu10@gmail.com

Asking 15K.

Engine/ Drivetrain

2H diesel engine, run on Biodiesel most of its life.
326,152.8 km. Previous owner ran synthetics, I have run Amsoil HD 15-40 synthetic since I have owned it. I also ran Biodiesel for almost all of the time i have had it, and used a conditioner religiously when I didn't. Oil pressure measure between 25psi and 70psi hot. Compression was checked about 6000 miles ago and was well within factory specs. Injectors were rebuilt about the same time. Racor secondary filter. New ebrake cable, newer water pump.

I have a complete Safari turbo kit in a box not yet installed. I bought the kit used but was told it was recently rebuilt. The kit uses a Garrett turbo.

H55 Five speed manual transmission: It shifts perfectly. I run Mobil 1 synthetic in the tranny.

Front and rear axles have been rebuilt completely. Knuckle and wheel bearings, seals up front, both sets of bearings, seals in rear full floater.
New Yukon 4.56 gears, rebuilt diffs including pinion bearings and seals. ARB air locker in rear and factory limited slip up front.

Suspension/ Tires:
Alcan custom springs designed to provide 4 inches of lift under heavy load. Extended anti-inversion shackles providing about 5" of total lift. Rancho 9000 adjustable shocks all around, new OME steering stabilizer, extended sway bar links. Tires are old style BFG MudTerrain's with very good tread (80-85%) 35x12.5.15. One tire recently blew out so I have a spare on the truck right now.

Body/ Interior:
Right Hand Drive, High roof version features electric sunroof,, rear sliding windows fender mounted power mirrors, seat warmers, inclinometer, factory flare (very cool).
I have added: Isspro oil pressure, H2O temp gauges. 24/12 volt converter, Pioneer deck, 6 disk changer, amp, Audiobahn sub. ARB compressor and locker switches, CB and antenna, and Garmin GPS3 plus GPS system. The interior is in fair condition. Carpets are stained, seats are torn up, headliner is a little dirty. The rear defroster and rear heater switches need to be replaced. Also, the sunroof glass was shattered when a rock hit it (long story involving kids). I was in contact with Sheldon at G&S cruisers in Canada and he had one available. I can help track one down if needed. I have gathered all of the parts for AC, but I would install turbo first then AC.

Accessories:
ARB Bull Bar, side bars and side steps. 24 Volt Warn 8274 winch. Kaymar dual pivot rear bumper with spare tire carrier. Tradesman roof rack (shortened), 24 volt Hella H4 head light and driving lights. Safari Snorkle. ARB 24v compressor. Dual Optima Red Tops.

Rust:
High roof cruisers tend to rust from top down, and this is no exception. There is a nasty spot of rust on the roof. It has not penetrated the second layer of sheet metal yet but needs to be taken care imediately. See this thread for suggestions:

https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=54779

there are spots of rust on the rear wheel wells and the lower tail gate could use a replacement if you're looking to restore. the frame is in outsanding condition and still bears the factory coating.

I am sure I forgot a lot of details, so don't hesitate to ask. Thanks for looking, I will post very detailed pictures this weekend. I just wanted to get the ball rolling.

Rob, thank you for the kind words. I can't believe it's been several years already!

There are some trail pictures as well as detailed closeups of the truck. You will immediately notice that my profession nor my hobby is photography!

I will entertain ALL reasonable offers, listen to suggestions, and may even consider a half-decent 80 for partial trade.

Thanks again to the MUD community.

ttt. Some motivation... I average 18-20 mpg built as it is.

Offers and suggestions welcome. Price negotiable.

legally registered in Cali?

Fully registered in Cali. It was issued a Vin, stickers, and is listed as a diesel so its smog exempt. When I bought it the title was transferred and proceedings were just like purchasing any other car (minus the smog check).

Finishing the 40 off?

Yes, then selling that one too! Sort of a cleansing period :)

By the way, if anyone is even remotely interested in the hj60, let me know- I'm feeling generous. i'd rather it go to a cruiser guy/gal than some ebay kid who thinks it "cool"

what I always wished my old fj60 was. I'de love to be driving that but its way out of my budget.

I ordered the sunroof glass- will have it installed as soon as it gets here.
New radiator hoses all around-
Will be repairing rust on the roof this week.

I forgot to mention that I am doing my best to get down to Surf-n-Turf this weekend with this cruiser.
