I've always been a fan of the fj60 so I decided to sell my jeep TJ and build my first land cruiser. I bought this one a few months ago and I've been doing some repairs and upgrades since then. I made sure to take photos of everything so I could have a detailed build thread (this is my first build thread).

It was in really rough shape when I bought her. The price much lower than the other 60's here in southern California so decided to take on the project.

Its been repainted which is unfortunate and has some dents, but more on that later.

The next day I took her to my local mechanic.
I had them repaid everything that was leaking.

-Rebuilt front knuckles
-Replaced the brakes
-Oil pan gasket, valve cover gasket, side engine gasket, and differential cover gaskets
-New thermostat, belts, oil pressure sending unit, clutch, and some 31inch BFG tires

I'm sure I'm forgetting something.
I could have done these repairs myself but being a full-time college student and working I just don't have the time. I also just wanted it done correctly the first time.

Once I got her back from the shop I got to work removing the old tint. Some warm water in a spray bottle and a razor blade did the trick.

I originally planned to paint it the original color but that would leave me completely out of change considering how expensive a quality job is. Therefore, I've decided instead of paying for an expensive paint job I would use that money to repair the small imperfection/dents and outfit the rig for my camping/ rock climbing trips.

In a few years when I have some spare change maybe I'll pay for a quality paint job. For now I want to drive it and not worry about scratches

Anyways heres the rig with he ARB bumper. I think it looks great!

Just installed my frontrunner roof rack! Install was a breeze. I apologize for the dark images I'll upload some higher quality ones tomorrow.

Next on the list is an OME lift, repair dents/imperfections, replace carpet, replace door panels.
Thanks for reading!

Damn, for a full-time collge student, I am surprised you can swing an ARB bumper, and the work that was done from the onslaught. Looking good, and for what it is worth, I would not get it painted, unless absolutely necessary, OG paint adds to patina.

60's are my favorite.
