I went with the retrosound 5.25" slimline speakers for the rear. Routed the speaker lines through the existing rear harness and back to the front. Used grommets from Mcmaster Carr to seal the holes in the tub where the speaker wires (and the license plate ligts) came through.

Were these speaker covers already there, a Middle East option? I assume there are bracket they mount to not thru the cowl.

Did you install nutserts for the rear speaker mounts?

Looked and found those speakers used on the 40 series.

Good questions!

The front speakers are factory stereo option with the FM radio. Yes, brackets on the body that match the outside mounting points on the housing. Three-point mounting for each speaker.

For the rear, yes installed nutserts for the custom speaker mounts.

Nicely done, Geoff. You should consider marketing those panels. If I had a hard top 40 I would be interested.

Finished up the doors and mirrors today.

New door card clip inserts, new door mechanism silencer and 3M VHB tape for the plastic vapor/moisture barrier.

Door card, handle, latch cover, crank and escutcheon installed. I know the crank was originally black, but I went with grey.

Early model mirrors and arms installed. I had previously shaved the mirrors off the doors.

Looking really good.

The interior door handles were black as well in 84. Are those 70 series handles? Are you matching the ambulance door handle as well. Which window cranks did you use?Think I found some that work here in the US. If you have a extra set of front and rear speaker brackets I'm your buyer.

Know what would look good IMO

If you can find the oem clear lenses... it was a euro thing for a few years as well as au

Look like these ... however I do not know know if these were original or reproduction ... I asked the guy ... but... guy never posted up stamping pics

The original handle part number sub'd to 69285-90801-B0, so yes likely a 70-series handle. I am using the same for the amby door, which sub'd to the same number as well. I picked up the cranks out of Australia, but I do like the color match.

You're at the front of the list if more brackets come my way!

I found the handle part number. Site I used showed the 40 series BO at the end as brown for the LX models. 70 series the BO is grey. Would be interested in the part number for the window cranks. I can get the grey door pulls from Australia. Can't tell from the pictures I've seen if these grey ones are hard plastic or a rubber type coating. With the help from a friend in Australia managed to get these 84 doors for a very good price. Just need to get them to the US with everything else.

Somewhere have the hard handle for a 84 HJ47RV ambulance door that believe is black as well. Got lucky getting doors front and back from different 84s. Especially here in the US where 9/83 is the date I show as the end of 40 series in the US. Even if they were still available being 11/83+ we couldn't get them here.

Got the window cranks from ToJo 4wd in Australia a while ago. Unfortunately looks like Peter has been getting poor reviews for service now so I can’t recommend them.

That’s a nice score with the doors!
