Ok after a couple of years I finally bought the cruiser from a friend since he ignored a radiator leak and blew head gasket. I just started restoring it a bit so Granny and I can take off west for a few months but.
I am also at the end of building a house and can use funds to finish up. Only rust I find is right behind the rear tires. I think a typical spot and will have to get pictures since I just decided to possibly sell it 10 minutes ago. Below are some things that a previous owner did. Not my friend. He just drove it and let it set up for a couple years.
rebuilt the motor at 125K (all felpro gaskets).

40over with 10:1 compression pistons I got in japan

completely rebuilt head

clifford cam (off road grind)

Holley 350 cfm conversion from Specter off road.

mallory ignition

specter header with 2.5 exhaust and turbo muffler.

electric fan (160 thermostat)

can be set up with dual batteries( has second box).

hi output alternator

rebuilt starter and steering box.

steering knuckle rebuilt with all new front bearings.

centerforce clutch ($500)

rebuilt or new clutch hydraulics.

complete 134 A/c conversion ($1000) - Never completed to run.

New brakes with new lines up front

All 4WD works great.

Small oil leak and front and rear main seal so check oil level once in a while.

rear heater under passenger seat works fine.

1997 FJ80 wheels and tires .

BDS complete spring kit with custom drive shafts made. New shocks came with kit.

Price? Pics?

I forgot.
3500 bucks like it sits. We will be getting the Head deal corrected whatever it takes and probably also replace all hoses and belts/water pump while I have it apart. The radiator looks like it will need replaced since the PO tried to use Epoxy to repair it. Probably why head gasket blew.

I'm in LR,AR where are you located? If you could get send some pics, I could very possibly be interested.
Ferndale. It is well worth it I think. I have started removing components to pull the head. I was going to clean under the hood and replace belts ..hoses etc when I have it put back together. I want to get it on the road to drive but sure could use cash to finidh up my house. New to the site but do I send across the site or to your email which may be easier. if you can message me your number I could text some. I will try to post more in a few minutes
