Would anyone by chance have these parts available used? Would take additional portions of linkage as well (78106,78107, etc).

Aren't these the same as an FJ60?!

I'm thinking the STYLE of the brackets is the same, but I have never actually compared them side by side to know that. I think Paul @3_puppies would know.

some are simply Good Used usable used parts

WOW!, that's purty.

Matt, I don't think those are the '81 up style the OP inquired about.

I need to organize my stash of linkage one day. Not right now.

John, to the right of the vertical rods you have the horizontal rods, two of which have the ball stud ends. That's what Georg and I were curious about. Do the '81+ FJ40s use the ball stud ends like the 60, with the same length horizontal rod? I seem to recall them using the ball stud (I think I borrowed a retaining clip from some 60 linkage to fix a customer's 40) but I never held the rods up side by side to see if they were the same.

It may have been that it was a composite, using the ball stud and socket at the carb end, but still the floating shaft and grommet at the firewall end.

I could just look at the microfiche, but I won't be back at the shop til Monday, and I'm sure to forget by then!

I'll try to get to the microfiche today, or dump out that bucket and see if I wrote anything on that pivot shaft.

There must be someone that has access to an 81/40 to pop the hood and enlighten us. John

I'll check an 82 40 series in pieces in the shop, the carb is still on the manifold and I'll have a look.

See now, that's what I'm talking about. At the nd of the day, one of you should com up with something to sell this fart smeller/ smart feller. If I even try to tackle the linkage, it'll be like a Pandora's box for me. Matt saw the box of EXTRA cables I have; the pile of linkage is worse.

Best

In the last year I have DE-RigG-Job'd 3 separate Non-USA Late Model 40 & 43 series 2F

Matt

That last photo is of an iteration I have never seen. Learned something new. Thanks

I finally remembered to check, the 82 40 series carb needs a ball end for the carb end, and the shaft end for the firewall end.
Now I need to find it in my mess.

I wonder if the OP is still interested?:hmm:

anyone have the peddle to linkage rod - 78104 they could part with? this is for a 1977 40. I have the top portion, it sheared in half...was thinking of fab'n a threaded rod assembly to get by.
