I originally bought this in running condition to put a straight axle under the front and make an overland camper for winter or summer. The propane heater works and so does the stove, the interior is rough and has 70's brown and orange everything. The canvas is still good in the pop-up except one corner where the desert rats got at it, only 3 dime size holes that can be easily repaired. The fiberglass is in good condition, pop up roof just has a saggy center section. No front suspension or engine/transmission, 85 straight axle pictured is not included. I have too much going on, which happens and I need this gone. $250 takes it.

I can help with delivery.

I was hoping to see your finished product but I realize too much work makes for no time to enjoy your efforts~ and you have plenty of projects!

Hey, whats that new structure in the background youre building in the first photo? Something to jump the dirtbikes from, or??

That's a RC track, and its pretty sweet. The structure you see is where you stand to see the whole track and control your RC from.

Windrush, it is located in Phx., PM me with any other questions.

I wanted to see it done too Murf, haven't seen a 5.3 powered chinook yet, but one day when I get tired of traveling light I will build one of these to tow the 62 with. Thing is I have a well outfitted camping/wheeling rig that can go much further than I would want to try and take a fiberglass camper. :hillbilly: ! Or put the shell on the back of the 85 or even the back of a 60, that would be too fun... Saw a thread somewhere about someone making an overland 80? with one of these recently on Mud.

RC track is right, problem is keeping the RC car running too. Full size or scale i'm a bit hard on things and keep burning up magnets in motors.

Moto track is in the works, but with so many local areas to ride it's on the farthest backburner at the moment.

Camper 60.....

Hmm - wonder if the setup the old Westfalia VW campers would work for making a retrofit 60? Would have to do some body stiffening, but a fiberglas pop-top with a bunk would be a fairly interesting mod.

Did Toyota make an ambulance door 60 somewhere that could take a high-top? Seems to me I've seen some Aussie stuff that might fit that config....

Jack the camper and stick it on a Taco or Tundra?

That was the idea, funny how when you sell something, similar items pop up  He also started building it around the time I picked mine up, must have been a zombie scare.

Sad part is, I think mine may be heading to the scrap yard. $250 is what I'll get for the scrap. When I got this I had 4 dogs and needed the extra room for ski season, now I only have 2 dogs and am not in a hurry to lug all the extra weight around. I really like these chinooks when updated, but don't "need" it anymore.

I can't wait to build this thing up!

Gald to see it went local. Like many people Im sure , i would love to see how it progresses through your build!

Congrats!

Great news that the scrap yard did not get it....

Build updates would be cool.

Me and MoGas just got back to Flag after a long day!

MC is top notch by letting my use his trailer to bring the vehicle home...massive amounts of godo karma his way for that one.

I'll document the build...whatever I do.
