again Im not selling...Im looking for advice on whats is worth because Im looking to buy it.

The report has 76 pics and details...anyone??!!

It's got rust behind those black panels for sure. Small block conversion and auto trans (while popular) takes away from value IMO. A lot of work went into it. Quality of work...who knows? Looks like an early 90's re-do. Not a bad looking 'cruiser though. It's okay. I'd say $6,000 would be a fair price. Tell him he can keep the silly skulls and he may knock a few hundred off his price...kidding!

Appreciate the feedback road.....anyone else wanna chime in?

Does not look to bad for a 77, and what L.C. does not have rust unless it has been cut out and replaced

One thing you need to consider is your local states smog laws since the original 6 has been removed and the V-8 installed.

what about an offer what would be a good deal...if you read the report it says the heater isn't working...speedometer not hooked up...wipers not working and a few other things....with that considered what would be a real good deal? I feel like $6000 is to much..what do you think?

I personaley think it is worth 6000 all day long, i guess it all depends on how much he needs the cash and how bad he wants to get rid of it...

There are so many non-stock mods on this 'cruiser that there are going to be issues that will just take time to figure out. It has been monkeyed around with alot and you are going to find some interesting stuff when you dig into it. For instance, is the heat simply not working or have parts and pieces been removed to accomodate the larger engine and trans? The speedo is an aftermarket one. Maybe the factory cable won't reach or maybe it takes a different connector. These are the "gotchas" of buying a heavily modified rig. If mods are done with some degeree of integrity and if the person doing the mods has records of what was done then it's usually okay. It sounds like the current owner probably knows nothing about what was done which puts you in a bad position as a buyer. If the price is too good to pass up, jump on it but plan on spending some time figuring things out to make it right. As I said earlier, somebody spent some time and money on this thing at some point in its past. Chances are if the bugs are worked out of it it will be a good runner.

Update ...wipers are now working and the heat works just needed a duct tube hooked up...I have it negotiated to $6,400 take it or leave it.....the conversion was done about 3 years ago...went all chevy with the front and rear being converted to chevy 4:11. he said the engine is pumped up to about 300+HP, do these mods make the the car more or less of a daily driver? is it a great deal at $6,400? I plan on driving it street and light trailing....no hard wheeling.

Sounds like a good deal to me if you're not a purist. I was looking at the pics again and I'd bet the speedo has never worked. It shows 0 miles. Probably will need a different cable.

anyone else see anything of concern in the report?

Heyyy Roy thanks for chiming in....do the pictures indicate a well done mod or a hack job...I wouldn't know the difference. Looking at the fact its sprung under...was it done right? How about the engine any red flags you see. Do you think I will have issues with the th400 transmission driving it around town? what about the fact they swapped out the front and rear with GM 4:11 gears. I just want reliability...do these mods make it more, less or no difference in reliability.

Dude that's a nice truck. Either jump on it or give up its location so someone else can!

Don't get me wrong i know you want find 6k under the cushion of your couch but that looks like a deal. Test drive it and if it feels right jump on it.

To far for a test drive...which is my hesitation. Or if I had driven a 40 with a 350 conv. and a tubo 400 trans 4:11 gears. I will be using it as a DD so I'm concerned running it at 3000+rpms on a regular basis is going to give me problems. The car is 5500 and its another 900 to ship it to NJ.

If that 40 would be in Tx it would probably sell upwards 10K

You don't find many with upgrades like ARB lockers for 6 K!

Just my 2 cents

what about the fact they swapped out the front and rear with GM 4:11 gears..

I don't understand this claim. Those don't look like GM axles, they look like stock Toyota. And the stock axles in a 1977 40 would have had 4:11 gears. I kinda think this might come from the seller not really knowing what he's got.

yes the seller didn't know much...he basically got a great deal from someone hurting for money and bought it for dirt cheap. Doesn't use it so he's selling.
