For Sale 1976 FJ40 - NV

As so many have said before, my loss is someone's gain. It has a Ford 302 with a C4 automatic transmission. Newer BF Goodrich tires (with spare) on original rims with hub caps. The transfer case (original) and motor were just resealed; the transmission has a small (maybe 2-3 drips per night) from the seal between the transmission and bell housing. However, the transmission has a brand new aluminum pan, gasket, and filter.

A few things recently done:
- *Edit: new third member from a '71 front third member on an FJ40
- re-sealed motor and transfer case
- new aluminum transmission pan, gasket, and filter
- newer 32" BF Goodrich tires including spare
- new SOR bikini top included (has original hard top as well)
- completely rebuilt and cleaned heater
- new thermostat and water pump

Paint is in good condition (not original paint but original-ish color from PO). There is rust on the rear sill like many, but it isn't completely through the metal and could be salvaged/repainted rather easily. Interior is in great shape - no rust on the inside floor boards. Electronic fuel pump with new lines.

Location: Reno, NV; can work with someone delivering to Salt Lake City

*Edit* - Price: $7,000

Please ask questions and request specific pictures. Note: best friend in pics not included

Reason for selling: my wife and I are relocating to SLC for work and the time to be with the Cruiser simply isn't there for us. We would much rather someone enjoy it instead of it sit idle in a storage unit. It's a daily driver, and has been for many years, and is incredibly reliable.

Probably need to post a price.

Stock ring and pinion in a '76 40 is 4.10:1, and stock FJ60 ring and pinon is 3.70:1, IIRC. Did you swap both diffs or ??? Asking because I figure it'll come up sooner or later ... Cool rig, GLWS!

Another good catch, thanks Dedtruk. After going through some old PM's and posts it was out of a '71 40, not a 60. I was getting mixed up with a newer 60 I was looking at picking apart for parts. Thanks for the catch!

Fair price. Surprised this hasn't sold yet.

Recently my my Father-in-law and I have been finishing up the body work on this exact FJ40 (We brought it back to it original paint color rustic green-621) . He purchased it last Fall, from a guy named Ben, small world right. I was wondering if I could PM you and ask you a few questions??

Small world. If you haven’t already, maybe pm the guy so he might get an email notification, it looks like he hasn’t visited the site in over 5 years. Good luck.
