What sort of concerns should I have given the PO removed the fuel separator on my 76? Should this go to the top of my repair list, are the parts available, etc?

A typical issue when it's missing is fumes in the cab after sitting...if you're running without a top, I suspect you won't have that. 😆

Overall, it's a pretty simple system though, if one adds it back.

Edit: I want to say you needed to switch to a vented gas cap if it's removed too. The original cap intended for that setup would be sealed, as the evap provides the venting.

First trip around the block, they are all used parts. Venting tank pressure will be way more important in the hot climate vs the cold.

If you are quick you can put lit matches out in liquid gasoline, can't be done a proper mixture of gas vapor and air.

I gotta drag this one out again. What do people do to remedy the vacuum problem if this has been removed from the fuel system? It's been pretty difficult to source so I have to assume most owners still have these in their trucks?

My 76 has one of those tank vents routed to a hard line that runs along the body under the pax side and up to the charcoal canister on the pax side fender. The canister then has a line back under the pax side and is open to the air. There is no valves or switches, it is simply a passive gas vapor absorber and there is no pressure build up.
