I am selling my 1976 FJ40 for $7800 OBO. It runs good and strong. The mechanic confirmed it. The Truth: 33" tires are in real good shape. It came from Arizona, so the frame is very solid with limited rust spots. The paint job is not great, but looks real good from about 10 feet. Up close, you will find a few crack in the paint on the back part and corner of the drivers side. I put $1000 into brake work and electrical work this past summer. All new brakes and brake cylinders and lines and what not. It has a Chevy 350 V8 engine that runs strong. I have a brand new Kayline soft top still in the box for this rig. I was going to paint the vehicle and do some body work before installing the top, but with child #2 on the way, moving to Canada in the spring, and no time to work on it, it is selfish to keep it and let it sit. I would prefer to sell it and see someone get some use out of it. It has a 1.5 inch lift. Full spare tire. Large solid custom bumpers (front and back). I have a bench seat for the back and also jumpseats. The jumpseats need to be sanded and painted and reupholstered, but they are solid. I have the rear heater unit for it, I have a couple soft doors, but no hinges. I have brand new carpeting for it as well. I have bunches of other spare parts. I will give it all to whomever is interested. My new battery has either a bad cell, or it needs a new alternator. Not sure which yet. Also, if I were to keep it, the first thing I would do would be to put a new wiring harness on it. Anyone with knowledge and a little time would be perfect for this vehicle. I have little knowledge and no time. I will consider a trade for a newer 2003 and up minivan + cash, or an FJ80 possibly. You can e-mail me at kstraub24@hotmail.com with questions or call 571 239-5388. I am located in Manassas, VA. I have a bunch of pics so e-mail me to see them. Home phone is 703 791-5609.
