That is NOT an FJ, but a BJ40 (F = gasoline engine). The engine is probably a B (3 litre) and it looks quite nice.

Welcome to 'Mud

Nice looking Cruiser. The engine is definitely not stock... The 3B was introduced in 1981. Interesting badge placement.
BTW, If you're gonna advertise your goods here you should buy a RED vendor star.

John, I'm sure you could school him in the history of the '40 and the diesel engine.\

Cheers-

Actually, (a) It looks like it is in nice shape, (b) the motor looks pretty similar to stock but with one really big difference TURBO CHARGER. If you know what turbo was placed on the B engine making it a turbo diesel. I drove a B engine for about 18 months as a DD and I can tell you that on the highway is where she showed her age. The turbo, properly calibrated and the engine properly tuned should do nicely.

Where did this vehicle come from, they never sold either the B or the 3B diesel in the U.S.

Looks like a nice truck, but for $39,000 i would expect a little more attention to detail on being truely original. If i can see all of the items missing or misplaced from these photos i wonder what else their is that i cant see. looks more like a $20,000 cruiser to me.
