Hello everyone. I just bought a 1973 Iron Pig and tuned it up. changed the fuel filter, thermo, air filter, plugs changed the oil and had the rad flushed. I drove it around for about 15mins when it started to overheat. I shut it off and waited a few minutes then started it up again but now it wont stay on unless I'm giving it gas. Any thoughts?

Thanks

Welcome.

Did you put oil in the engine?

Do you have oil pressure?

FJ55 in need of help!

Hello Everyone,

I just picked up a 1973 FJ55. I tuned it up, out in a new thermo, fuel filter and flushed the radiator. I drove it for about 15-20 mins when it started to overheat. The engine died and now although it fires right up it wont stay on unless I'm giving it gas. The second I stop gassing it the engine dies. What have I done? Any thoughts?

Thanks

I'm new to forums...

Yes, I did put oil back in the engine and I do have oil pressure. I'm afraid that I ruined the engine (geez, hope not!).
