I am a new FJ40 owner as of this week ...and need some immediate repair to the fuel cell and modifications for comfort. The fuel tank is leaking and the current aftermarket seats are problematic for a 6'4" frame.

What options or ideas do you have placing the tank in the rear? Removing the tank and placing a modified seat configuration that will accommodate persons that are 6'4" and a passenger that is paranoid about sitting on a fell cell is imperative.

I would love to see your ideas. Auxiliary tanks and best (power) bucket seat configuration and bench seat for rear options are requested.

Posting pics and specifics are appreciated. Budget sensitive ideas will take priority :)

Thank you in advance
Bill

Take a look at ebay #264985532557, but don't buy it on ebay, I merely send a PayPal invoice- - -easy deal. Then buy or make a bucket seat mounting frame that lets you see out the front windshield somewhere below upper wiper blade level (I speak from experience)..

Awesome tank set up! ..and available within 25mi of my home. The tank skid plate looks sweet too!

@Jim ..You are so right, my eyeline is currently at the top of the window frame :)

Thank you

Hi Jim, What was your item ebay #264985532557? I'm looking too. Thx.

That item was my rear fuel cell that goes behind rear differential, but they have been unavailable for 2-3 months now because the government is paying the workers more money to stay home than to work, the molding company can’t get anyone to stay on the job.
