This is just a cross post. Please see the classifieds 55 section for the whole story. Yep, selling Pigasus. Got bills and different needs.

Bigsal,

Sorry to hear that. I wish you good luck with selling it, but it just seemed like you guys enjoyed useing it alot. I'm sure the fun will continue with another vehicle.

My wife is saying don't do it....

I think it's cool and seems to be reasonably priced. Wish I could take it off your hands.
Even have a friend in Winters. What rainforest do you frequent?

Thanks for the comment. I frequent any rainforest where there are forestry conservation projects. I am a consulting forester and seem to always be working in extreme remote areas. I am in Borneo at the moment and was way, way out there. Got to hang out with orphan Orangutans, sidestep away from cobras, drive for hours through boring-ass palm oil plantations and watch out for 4 foot monitor lizards on this trip. But that is another story... 'Travel is a fool's paradise". :grinpimp:

Fj55

I bought this 55, and took the seller at face value. Seemed like a very nice guy.
I had a one way ticket 1000 bucks into a deposit and was a long way from home.
I was told it dripped oil at the drain plugs, and it was pretty clean under and around the drive train. Long and short of it. It has a large amount of RTV gasket material between the trans and overdrive left a nice puddle on the ground. The roof rack was included and once removed uncovered a large dent under it. Once I removed the tape from the roll bar I found that it was put together with duck tape and a single small sheet metal screw on each side. Shame on me for not looking further into it I don't have buyers remorse but am very disappointed after being told a few times. I haul my family in this rig. I was hoping for a rig to drive thru the winter with out working on it. Now I have to go thru overdrive, trans and xfer case and buy new tires and rebuild the front end.

Good to see you getting into Pigs Henry!
Very sorry this Piggy may not have been represented as it should have been, but it will be good to see you around here.

safe fj55

I finally pulled this fj55 out to fix it. After hearing more than once how safe Iit was cause the owner hauled family in it. The front drive shift was held Iin by one bent bolt there was no lock washer. So I can only assume that's what happened to the other three. Trans cross member has the wrong size bolts. And the same with the bolts holding in the trans trans mount bolts on cross member all that was holding it in place. Moral of the story is this guy had no idea what he was doing. When he put this together .

Not much on build threads....I got this one to be a driver... The way it's put will have to remove front end and pull motor and gear boxes... As one or lift the body 2 inches. To pull trans and case....not having any luck finding shift linkage for the case going to have to buy another t case to get the correct linkage. ... I am putting it back together now. To drive it across town and leave in a shop until I can find linkage... and repair all.at the same time. Hope to have it done by may...
