Please read everything.

This is a 100% rust free 1972 FJ40 tub that is ready to be painted. It is gray primered and has black Monstaliner in the bed. Just put it on your frame and add paint. This is a great opportunity to save thousands as well as many hours of your time. Unless a tub has been completely gone through, all tubs will need work which is $$$.

All work was done by Jason @reevesci . If you know Jason or have seen any of the work he has done, you know the quality of work he produces. Just search his build threads on Goss, he's a true artist.

This was originally for a personal project of mine, but the fact is, it has sat for 2 years, I already have a 40 resto-stock frame-off underway, and I certainly do not need a second frame-off resto with everything else I do, so I am selling this. It's currently in my shop, so extra space is welcomed too.

Located in Austin. Price is $8000 and I am firm on that. Cash/check only, I will take a PP deposit. Buyer to arrange shipping. Local pickup preferred though.

I will try to get some pics as it sits, but here is some of it under the knife and close to being done when Jason had it.

Still available? Have a guy here wanting to renew his '73 that's rusted from living on the east coast. I may have a buyer for you.

Yes, I have been pretty bad about marketing it because it's tucked away in the shop. Tell him to email me

I'll be contacting you. He want's me to work on his 40 and from what I've seen, his body is in need of lots of repair. We meet next week. I'm not sure his budget will allow it but I know the cost difference in fixing what he has.

Stay tuned. And thanks for the quick response.

Oh. And I'm very familiar with '75 to '77 FJ40s but not earlier details. Is the '73 and '72 the same like I think they are?

i believe they made a change mid-74, on the tire carrier mounts. The big change was in 78ish, when the body mounts changed. IIRC so you may want to confirm

I'll check on that. Give me the build date on the tub and I'll find out what it is on the one here.

I'll try to make the hard sell on it for you. He says he doesn't want a show truck but my feeling is, that with that said, he doesn't want swiss cheese either...

I looked, there's no plate so I can't get a mm/yy.

Update:
The owner is swamped this week but said he will bring the 40 over to my house and leave it with me to go over it and make suggestions a give him some quotes. If we agree on things, he'll just leave it here. So, I'll let you know next week if this guy is a buyer. I have no idea how to give you a percentage estimate.

No worries. Ping me if needed

Are you still firm at the $8,000? Just curious...

Bryce,

No, it could go up but wont go down. I have a project I could use this on if it doesn't sell. A new one would cost me more to get one in this condition.

If you look at anything inexpensive being brought in from outside the US, you or your body guy will see that they are junk. I won't go into details but you get what you pay for.
