1971 FJ55
History: truck was originally built by BTB Products back in 1994 or so. They did the 350 conversion with auto, powersteering and disk brakes. It was originally built as a family backwoods cruiser. It has since been turned into more of a family rockcrawler.

Truck drive nice down the road. Comfortable and pretty quiet. Steers well, brakes stop on a dime. This is a great truck to pile the family in, and cruise through Rubicon in comfort.

Current set up:
Drivetrain:
very basic small block 350. Performer manifold. professionally rebuilt Quadrajet (Ace Fuels Systems). 4-core dimple-tube custom built radiator.
Transmission is custom built 700R4, less then 10k miles on it. Marlin Toybox 4.7:1 crawler box. 1985 FJ60 splitcase transfercase (much stronger/quieter then stock... but no e-brake). (129:1 final crawl ratio)
Lokar shifter for transmission
Stock shifter for transfercases.
Floorboards are nice and tight… no riveted-down roadsigns
Front axle is stock with FJ62 from knuckles out.
Rear axle is stock and "No Slip" lockright locker
Front driveshaft is heavy-duty thick walled, long slip with high-angle ujoints
Rear driveshaft is stock with later model, larger ujoints

Brakes:
Front vented FJ62
Rear GM disk brakes
FJ60 master
Stops strong and straight

Steering:
GM Saginaw 4-turn 4-bolt box. This is not typical of most FJ55 (most use FJ60 or scout), but it was done as cleanly and strong as possible. Works well.

Tires:
Five 35x12.5x15" ProComp MT's
Black powdercoated steel 15x10” rims.

Protection:
4X4Labs custom built rear bumpers front and rear (dual swingouts on rear).
4x4labs Sliders welded in place of rockers.
4x4Labs custom front bumper
4x4Labs customer skid plate

Suspension
4x4Labs spring over conversion

4x4Labs rear-steer (Frombe steer), high-steer arms
FJ60 rear springs in front, with shackle reversal
Chevy rear springs
Anti-wrap bar
Rancho 9000 with in-cab adjuster

Interior
Front new leather seats
Stock rear seat with Specter seat cover
Stock gauges
Stock rubber matts
Full autometer gauges in custom console
Dash cover
Large lockbox with stereo
CB radio in dash with external speaker
Nice cargo area side panels with amp and 10” subwoofer

Other
Dual yellow top batteries with isolator.
Rear window works well (at both tailgate and switch on dash)
6 rocklights under truck

The Bad:

Body has a couple other dings/dents.
needs headliner (New headliner in box comes with it)
