Looking for a clean and nicely sorted 40 with no rust rig would be fine. Power steering is a plus

I have been thinking about selling my 1977 FJ 40 that was imported from Australia. Original except for roof rack(from Australia), aftermarket steel wheels w/BFG(not oversized) and front disc brake conversion from Spector. Clean, only very minor surface rust in various spots, only 40 some kilometers(can't remember exact and truck is in a warehouse) which equals 24,000+ miles, under 30,000 miles anyway. The nicest 40 I could find that wasn't screwed with plus very unique being Australian. Added bonus also that it doesn't has US emission system. Price would be more in the 17K-18K range. Try searchtempest.com. Click "Choose states/cities manually". Set the search location to "all" put "FJ40" in the search field and then check off "Search titles only". This will do a nationwide search for every FJ40 listed for sale on Craigslist. You could also set a minimum price of $5,000 to rule out the lower priced trucks. Good luck with your search.

Still searching and having a hard time finding a "in between" truck. I dont want a project but cant afford a 20-30k perfect one either. Alot of trucks fitting the bill have sold here over the last year.... I guess you just have to be patient.

Im still entertaining the idea of finishing a "almost done" project though...

That is one I am currently considering yes and chatting with the owner about it.

Just as the link reads above. I'm in Orlando FL, asking 3500.
The frame has been repainted the rear brakes have been rebuilt, the emergency brake has been rebuilt. The fron knukles have been rebuilt and warn hubs have been installed. It have a new clutch, complete with pilot gearing and all. Motor has been painter new valve cover gasket has been installed, new hoses new thermostat new water pump... I'm selling be because i cant do all the body work required, i only have a single car garage and its for the wife and kids... I will consider trading it with a shed full of parts of it. I will consider a clean rust free running 60 or 62...

I'm in the market as well. Went through every 40 on Ebay and really just became disappointed after going through all of them.

There is no such thing as no rust..unless it has been taken apart.
