Rebuilt engine is back

Got the engine back, and I've been bussy getting it ready to drop in this weekend!

Very nice! I have a '69 Fastback that I did a full resto on... Tons of work and money but they're worth it in end if you do it right.

This 'vert seems to be in great shape. How are the floor pans/trunk floor?

The body is great, It just sux that I had to do the engine again after only 3 month.
But, I should of known better with a used engine.

We got the Engine installed today.

Today I finally had a chance to work on the suspension. New shock and Leaf spring in the rear, and cut off a inch on the front coils. It handles like a dream now! I really like the way the car sits now.

I also had a chance to wire up the shelby console and get that installed too.

I had to roll the fender last weekend - they where rubbing the tires just a little after the suspension drop.

Did you rent that tool or do you own it? I need to do that with my '69...the 295s out back tend to rub a bit over big bumps...

There's actually a couple guys on eBay that rent them out for a decent price... I don't think I'd ever spend $270 to buy one new for only one use!

Did it damage your paint at all?

I found a guy on Cragi's list that rented it too me for $50 for five days. A lot of the speed shop here rent them as well. If you use a heat gun, and warm the paint up, it should not crack. I had a small place that did crack - but it was under side, and you really can't see it .

So, I cracked the paint in a few spots rolling the fenders, and picked up these great looking shelby scoops. One thing led to another.. and off to the body shop the car went.

I finally got the car back today, with the new hood scoop and side intakes. All pieces are from maier racing. My paint and body guy went all out and did a few other repairs and buffed out the car.

What seats did you put in there? Beautiful car. I just sold my '69 Coupe, which I'd installed a 351W and converted to 5 spd. Just one too many machines in the barn unfortunately. It breaks my heart every time I sell a Mustang. But I wonder on your opinion on those seats, good long range cruiser seats? I have a seat issue in my 60 I'd like to fix.
