1966 Stock Unmolested FJ40 Land Cruiser (FJ4041964) for sale. $6750.00
This FJ40 has spent all of its life in WY and most of the last decade sitting in a Barn waiting to be discovered. This vehicle was purchased in the last couple of the years from the widow of the original purchaser whom bought the truck new in 1966, making this truck only have a total of two owners in its life. If you have wanted an FJ40 like it rolled off the assembly line then here is your chance. This truck is completely stock with the original glass, interior, hub caps, F series engine (F221517), three speed on the tree and less than 40,000 miles. The FJ40 even came with a rather unique and hard to find Optional free-wheeling Dualmatic front hubs that were produced in Colorado. The only thing this truck is missing is one of the rear jump seats. And the only things that have been added to this truck is a rear bumper extension to act like a step, side mounted rearview mirrors, spin-on oil filter adaptor and a winch. This is a very solid and amazing truck with the only area showing any rust is under the rear door. Please only serious inquiries. Detailed photos can be emailed out upon request to the following email address: oncken@earthlink.net

Unfortunately the truck is located on the other side of the state from you in the south east corner in Laramie WY.

What is the mechanical condition of this truck? Running? Frozen?

Thanks

The truck runs great. There is the usual seepage at some of the seals from the truck sitting—but no fluids pouring out anywhere. The only thing that the next owner will probably want to address is that the brake master cylinder will loose pressure when the truck sits for a while---if you pump the brakes the pressure will come right back---master cylinder needs a rebuild. There is no fluid leak in the brake system. The truck has been driven around town on nice days—but really doesn’t see the road all the much. Hope this helps—let me know if you have further questions. And I will try and get some more photos up soon.

FJ40 still waiting for a loving new home!!! Let me know if there are any photos you want posted!

How do those hubs work??

If purchased any chance you would be able to help bring it out on your way to Oregon?

Hubs

You take the two silver hinged levers pull them out and then fold them over so that they are facing 180 degrees from their current position. Then you rotate each lever 180 degrees so that it will fit back into the position you originally started. If you happen to have a Brooklands “Toyota Land Cruiser Gold Portfolio 1956-1987” book they are shown on page 18 at the bottom.

Oregon

I am planning on make a run at the end of February—but will have my truck stuffed. It wouldn’t be until sometime mid March that I could bring the FJ40 out to OR with me to Bend. Send me a PM.

This great little FJ40 is still available. Someone is coming into town to look at the truck on Friday, but as of right now there is no money on the table.

Last Chance

"SALE PENDING" and he is firm on this price. The FJ40 will be listed on Evilbay :bang: in a week so this is your last chance if you are seriously interested.

Things to consider when looking at this truck: the only area that needs a patch panel is the rear sill under the rear doors. The majority of the these older trucks have major rust issues which require a large amount of money to remedy, not to mention the extra time it takes. The truck is complete so you don’t have to spend time or money tracking down any small hard to find parts.

My friend may be asking a little more than what you might be able to find another FJ40 for---however most likely the truck you will find will have issues that will coast you a lot more time and money in the end. As for me I enjoy a good project—but it is much more enjoyable when you are able to drive it.

The FJ40 has three on the tree which makes it max speed of about 55mph--would make for a very very very long drive to NY---you could rent the smallest truck from uhaul and use one of their auto trailers behind it. Of course by the time you drive out and back it would most likely be cheeper to have the truck shipped by an autotransport company.

Hi, dont know how to do a pm. I offer 6K and ask for some help to get it to Europe,

Thanks

Ton

Will a stock FJ40 fit inthe back of a U Haul truck?

Just thinkin'...

A fullsize 79' bronco fits inside a 22' uhaul truck.(Ask me how I know) You , of course, can't tell them your plan!!!
