Axle is apart and trying to replace these bushings. Seems no one has them except SOR. Ordered them and a different part number came in. SOR said these are the closest they have and in their description it says "most be modified to fit". They were expensive and before we start milling them down is this correct? They are quite different from the originals pictured on right. If this is the only thing available then so be it. Just want to make sure first.

Thank you, Chris..

I have a 1965 LPB and did the axles perhaps 8 years ago. I bought the bushings from SOR and what needed modified was the I.D. of the bushing. As expected. I used a hone to message each bushing for a tight fit for the axle. The one you show has material/lip that seems different from original. Other than that, seems the same. Perhaps now the only sourced bearings has this lip and must be machined to fit flat on axle. Can you measure with calipers the ID of the old and new ? I would be curious.

I went through the same a few month ago. Took my axle (not axle housing) and bushing to a machine shop and matched the inner diameter to the axle, and also removed the outer lip. I had measured the outer diameter (since I couldn’t move the car) but it didn’t fit so I honed the inside of my axle housing, I think I froze the bushing too. Anyways it was a pain, not because it was difficult, just took forever to figure out, get the part and get it done. Hopefully your machine shop won’t keep your part for 2 weeks like mine did.
