Did this come from SA ? Whats the back history ? Did you build it ? Miles ? Is that a real FJ45 hard top or some sort of conversion? Does the frame VIN match the vehicles vin ? What axels ? Lift ? .

Purchased in New Mexico previous owner had it for 20 years. Real FJ45 hardtop Frame and Vin plate match. North American FJ45.

This FJ 45 was made available to the US market for only 4 years only from 1963 (1964 models) -1967 (1966 Models)

What’s that seam in the cab? Looks like maybe it’s modified to be a removable top (sort of). Fixed rear cab windows instead of sliders.

Some early 45 facts! This is a north america factory split window fixed top 45. However, the bed has been bobbed and taillights are aftermarket, as well as the rest of the rig. Cool build, but for 45k, it shouldn’t need anything…glws
More Facts...definitely not $45K but will take Best reasonable offer and not "I have $5K when can i pick it up offer"

Not modified as in cut and fabricated to be removed its factory. Top and panel bolt on similar to 40 can be removed.

how about some pics inside the cab behind the seats?

is it missing the windshield flap?

that is not the way a removable top is made from the factory, it was a fixed top model that has been modified.
wonder how it attaches at the windshield frame?

Definitely not factory removable, where are you getting your info?

X2........Not a factory removable top.

Attached to the body there were threaded sleeves but previous owner or owners stripped the sleeves. When we would try and attach top the bolts would spin in place. We cut the sleeves out and welded a patch then drilled a hole through the body panel to secure top in place. Stating info if im not using the correct terminology no disrespect, I understand a lot of gurus may like to be correct even though they don't own a 45 ... im trying to give all the information as best as possible.

To best of my knowledge that is what occurred. I know there is another variation of hold downs for a removeable tops on 45s. Attached is a picture from a long bed different style bed on the 45. Again it maybe "x2x3x4x5 not a factory removeable top" with latches or without but all 40 and 45 tops are removable one way or another, to the best of my knowledge Toyota didn't produce a solid cab.

Threaded sleeve example is from the floor behind driver seat.

Thank you for your questions

there is only 1 variation of how Toyota attached the removable top to the tub, it is with the latches and bolts thru the rim , also latches along the top of the windshield frame
the top would also seperate right above the door latch on the "B" post
this is how they were all produced from the 1960's thru the end of the run in 1984
this was for both long wheel base and short wheel base pickups
the removable top had 1 long window across the back of the cab and the 2 corner windows.
Toyota also produced a short wheel base fixed top pickup, which had 2 slider windows across the back of the cab
the cab was also smaller inside than the removable top version
there was also a panel piece that covered the rear of the cab, screwed to the body from the top down to the cross rib. in your pics you can see some of the screw holes still in the body
pics of my fixed top rig
