been talking to this guy for a while about his LV....... he is a nice honest fellow. I would have jumped all over this LV by now if it had the original F engine and drive train. Also I believe the actual year is somewhere in 1964-1965.

When I talked to him last I think he said his reserve would be in the neighborhood of 7500-8500, I would be surprised if he got that, what do you guys think?

I doubt it in the current condition. Maybe if it was completed he would be in that range. Here is a pic of the ellusive radio and, even if it was OE, I don't think I could run it :D His vin number at fj4520234 is a few off from the earliest Rick D. knew about at FJ4514088. We know his is a '64 or earlier because it has the flip up vent and even has the interior light under the dash. My '64 is in the 15XXX range but Gifu seemed to pull the frames randomly from a pile because pimp's 65 is in the 14XXX range. If you really wanted to see if it was an early 63, look at the glass, it should be stamped "FJ35". Please take pics of the "FJ35" glass markings if you can, I would love to add that to the webpage.

I may have an extra F engine and drive train after I install the running gear from my 55. I have a question, if these LV's are so rare, which they are, why are they so cheap, ie. don't bring any money on re-sale? It makes it very dificult to drop a bunch of cash and build these rigs correctly when the resale sucks so bad.

resale is great! selling half done projects with no floors is not :D

Do you have any examples of resale prices of completed projects? Just curious if anyone has ever finished a project, besides Matt, and then sold it for any decent money. Sure is a lot of work for no financial return. Yea, i love the LV's and am pretty blind to the value, but i can't be stupid if you know what i mean. i restore 70-72 Olds 442 converts. and the return on those is great, the parts are readily available and the work is not too dificult, ie rust repair etc. Now if someone i know would get some metal repair panels built for us, maybe life would be a little easier. ;)

But IIRC it didn't meet the reserve and it was past 30k.

Isn't that right?

Regardless - I'm sure $30-35k is way less than what he has into it. I'm sure that you can make money restoring a 70's muscle car, but not quite as sure FJ's are money makers. But hey - the best things in life are never free.

wow already up to $3181... My guess... $5,675 final bid.

Anyone else?

Wow - that went a lot higher than I would have anticipated.

cobolhead....

hopefully they do not cobol it together....

wow... my LV's are cheap! "GRIN"

That is crazy
